Two Days Until Surgery
Ladies- My surgery was 3 months ago and I was a nervous wreck. The first week was not fun, I was pretty miserable due to pain from the gas they pump you full of. The good news? I was only uncomfortable for the first week and bounced back quickly. I can say at 3 months out that I would have the surgery again and again if I knew how good I would feel. I will be praying for a quick recovering! Good luck!

Omg Can I Make It Through This
I am just over 2 months post-op and by far the hardest part of this journey for me to date was the pre-op diet. I hated everyday of it and kept thinking, if I can't stick to this how am I going to change my life once I have the sleeve??? Another sleever told me that pre-op was like a train traveling at 90 MPH, one "mistake" takes you so far off course and is a terrible accident. Post-op is like a train traveling at 5-10MPH, the mistakes are so small that a tiny adjustment and you are back on track. Don't worry, it gets much better, I promise!!!

Pregnancy And Sleeve
I am about 10 weeks post op, my doctor said I shouldn't have a problem at all. My primary reason for loosing the weight and getting healthy is so that my husband and I can have the family we've been wanting. I was told it will be a high risk pregnancy in that they will not wanting me gaining excess weight, but that it shouldn't be a problem getting pregnant and having a healthy child once I am at goal!

Sushi?
I am 9 weeks out and have tried sashimi and it was great. I am still afraid to try rice, I think it is most important to focus on protein right now. Trying to get to goal! Someday!

INCREDIBLE!!!!!! You are a rock star!

Positive Experiences Please!
I can honestly say that my imagination was far worse than any pain or discomfort I had. I had completely made myself a nervous wreck and it was honestly easy. The week after surgery was uncomfortable at times, but for a lifetime of being healthy, I'd do it again in a heart beat.

Shower
Same, I stayed one night in the hospital (California) and was able to shower that next morning. They wrapped up my stomach in what looked like plastic wrap, but it was nice to feel fresh and clean!

Positive Experiences Please!
I am 8 weeks post-op and down 50 pounds....10 of that was from my pre-op diet. I went to the endocrinologist today for a follow up, the last appointment I had was a little rough. My husband and I have not been able to get pregnant and the doctor had told me I would be doing a disservice to myself and future family if I didn't get my weight under control. I was borderline EVERYTHING. Today's appointment went so much better!!! He measured my stomach and I've lost 7 1/2 inches, I am also no longer borderline anything anymore! He fully expects us to be able to have a family once I have lost my excess weight and have been able to maintain at least 6 months. It feels good to get positive news for once!!! I love my new life!

Anyone Else Have This Problem?
I am two months post-op last week! I have lost 50 pounds (10 of that being pre-op.) Overall I feel fantastic and I am learning so much while on this journey. I find that the week before I start my period is when I tend to misbehave. I overeat and get sick and I am much more likely to turn to carbs and not stick to protein first. Does anyone else experience this? I know I have been hormonal, but I hate having an off week once a month!!!

How Long Off Work For An Office Job?
You'll be fine with one week. I only took a week off and I went back to work that second week full time. I was tired once I was back to work, but really I was working out and back to my routine very quickly.

One Year Out And Pregnant!
YEAH! I hope to have similar news to report in the near future! My husband and I have tried since we were married 2 years ago. I am only 7 weeks post-op, but cannot wait until I get to goal and am able to try to start our family. Congrats!

First Day At The Gym
Does your gym offer classes? I have found those so much more fun than pumping Iron and bouncing on the treadmill with all of the crazies! I have taken an aerobics "body pump class" and LOTS of Water aerobics classes, they are a riot!

Examples Of Slider Foods
I never realized saltines were a slider food until I talked to my nutritionist. I ate an entire sleeve (no pun intended) in one day since it was easy going down and my stomach was upset. She said.....it's easy going down because it is a slider food and FULL of carbs. Good to know!

Pcos (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) And The Sleeve
I have the same questions and we are hoping to become parents (17 months from now!) I am almost 6 weeks out of surgery and the primary reason for surgery was to be able to have children eventually. So far so good, I will be retested in a month to see if I need to begin taking metformin, my doctor wanted to give me an opportunity to get the weight off with surgery.

Crockpot Turkey Chili
That sounds about what I am doing. It isn't easy avoiding those carbs, but I've been making lots of fish and chicken! Thank you again for the advice!

Crockpot Turkey Chili
I love your blog and your recipes. What are your goal numbers each day? I shoot for 80g of Protein, 30g of carbs and as much Water as I can drink (I usually get in more than 64oz.) I asked the Nutritionist about carbs, but she would only tell me to focus on protein and water. I just wanted to see how someone else is doing! Thank you!

Stopped Lossing Lbs
I had the same stall happen....doesn't it drive you crazy?! I kept thinking I can't believe I got 85% of my stomach cut out only to loose 17 pounds and then nothing. Luckily it only lasted a week and I've been able to loose a steady 3-4 pounds per week since. You'll get there!

Jerks.
I feel your frustration! I have found that my parents and coworkers have been extremely supportive.....my in laws? Not so much! They continue to eat and offer horrible junk food to me. I know they are just being polite, but last weekend we had dinner at BJ's a pizzeria for my nephew's birthday. They proceeded to have pizza after pizza delivered to the table and dropped in front of me. I am still in the mushie stage....pizza is NOT on the menu. I finally got up and excused myself to the restroom when they delivered the dessert. It is definitely something I am going to need to get used to, but that doesn't make it any easier.

Hypoglycemia?
You are welcome! It is amazing how our body changes after surgery. We can live off of so little food. I am still getting used to my stomach size, my eyes still think I can eat a large portion. I really think this procedure has given me my life back!

Hypoglycemia?
I am 4 weeks post-op tomorrow and had issues with hypoglycemia pre-op. To be honest my hunger is so different now. Now, I notice that if it has been 2-3 hours since I've eaten I feel that little drop in energy or I start yawning, grinding my jaw etc. I know it is time to eat! When I was first out of surgery for the first week I was afraid to eat or drink because it was uncomfortable. I definitely think my blood sugar was low because my energy was gone. I notice that the days that I start with a Protein shake that prepares me to have a good day. Really as long as you listen to your body and eat every few hours I haven't had any crashes. I went to a family dinner and bowling night last weekend. I brought a little cooler with turkey meat and cheese in the car and ate twice throughout the night. I have just learned to be prepared and I won't get into trouble. Best of luck, this is really a journey, but I am thankful I took that first step!

Yay Starting Soft Foods!
I had the same experience. Each week I feel like I can eat a little more, but it still amazes me how little I need before I get full. Isn't it crazy? My eyes still haven't caught up to the size of my stomach.
