OK I logged onto my fitness pal via computer and went to settings and added Water under meal names. I put water there so I can use the measurement of ounces instead of cups when you add water choose water -municipal and adjust the ounces.

I have to say putting my horrible food in MFP today definitely had me embarrassed since I have viewers...it's been a horrible day for me... a work party where the cafeteria was closed and not any good choices for me & I'm about to go to a wedding. Ugh....tomorrow will be better! :/

My choices weren't very good today either.

Actually I think Tomato Soup is fine...it's not just Clear Liquids until after surgery if I remember correctly. I think you're doing great!

My paperwork says clear liquids now and full liquids after surgery, but I thought it wasn't too bad.

Does anyone else ever question if it was worth it? Today I'm feeling like it wasn't worth it. I hardly eat anything but I'm not loosing any weight since I started to add food, I'm doing really good following the diet. Today I want to eat sugar it's been a really stressful week but I want to give up today.

When I added food I stalled for a few days too. I noticed it helped that I got my Water in. I understand your feelings tho.

Oh...haha.. you're right! See how fast I forgot about that! It's only been 6wks and I've already forgotten. I have to tell you I admit I cheated a couple days and I also ended up having one light string cheese each day on the approval of Madison. When I went to the preop class/appt I told her what I'd been drinking and because my calories were so low she said I could have one string cheese to get me by as long as I didn't go over 600cals/day. It was the highlight of my day for the last 10 days of my 2wk liquids.

At my 1wk post op appt with Dr Cottam when I was inquiring about one of my bruises he even mentioned "it wasn't from the liver clamp because you didn't need one.... some people respond really well to the preop diet and your liver was very small" I was so thrilled to hear that because of how guilty I had felt for my cheats. LOL

That's good to know, funny that No one had mentioned to me anything about calories. Just my 4 Protein Shakes a day are over 600 calories once you add milk. I am getting more like 900 calories.

Okay today is a new day. I did very poorly on my food intake yesterday when I weighted in this morning a had a small loss but couldn't help to think if I ate better the loss would not have been so small. So I'm proving to myself today that I can do better! No sense beat myself up for it just realizing I can do better today and moving on!

Have a great day everyone!!

Had my 1 mo follow up this morning and I gained weight! 3lbs! From last week when I was in for my infection. I don't get it... I've done great and my Protein is where it should be and calories at 700. And this has been my most active week with exercise. So pissed! :(

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
