Kidney Stone (Thanks Goodness)

Recommended Posts

Friday morning I awoke to a sharp pain in my left side. I thought I had to use the bathroom, so I did, but no relief. It continued to get worse, so I began to fear that I had developed a leak. My wife drove me to the hospital after dropping our kids at daycare, and I thought for sure that I was going to be in a world of hurt from having a leak. They gave me a CT scan and there they saw the kidney stone.

This is my 7th kidney stone, and if you have never had one you should be thankful. They compare the pain to child birth, but I have heard from women who have had both that they prefered child birth. I am a man, which makes it worse because though we can take a punch or a tackle, when it comes to pain like that, we are wimps. :) Anyway the ER doc couldn't understand why I was smiling when she told me I had a kidne stone. I have never been so happy to hear that news. I just got out of the hospital a couple of hours ago, and have not yet passed the stone, but I am still counting my blessings that it was not a leak.

I have had 4 stones - and there are 7 that remain in my kidneys. I am so sorry that you had to experience the pain. I have nothing I could compare it to.

Blessings on your recovery. This too shall pass (lol). :D Couldn't resist...

I've thankfully never experienced one and hope never to, but I'm glad for you that it wasn't a leak!

I am so glad it was not a leak! I have had both kids and a kidney stone and would never want to either again :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
