Robin,

It sounds like you are doing everything right. The only other thing I was thinking was if you are more active and moving around more now, the extra activity is developing muscle as well not just the weight training. Did you take measurements? You may still be shrinking even though the scale isnt moving.

Pebbles,

I am glad that you are feeling better. Sorry your visit was so painful =( Wow almost 50 pounds gone that is great!

Oh, by the way how do I change my darn ticker?

Unfortunately you have to go back to the ticker website and create a new one with the new information, then paste it back into your signature.

Thanks candy and Faybie!!! When I go back to tickerfactory I just change my weight it saves my ticker. So I put the new weight and click next and it gives me the new ticker.

Faybie, you look amazing!!! You're so beautiful!! I thought we had someone new on because I didn't recognize your avatar. I was looking for your cartoon chick!! LOL!!

Pebbles, your weight loss is outstanding!! Don't ever come down on yourself again. You're incredible!!!

Robin, I have to agree with the calorie thing too. When I upped my calories from about 750 to 900 or so, I started losing again. Of course, you may also need another fill. I noticed I did after about a week after my first.

I just had my second fill this morning. I'm definitely more restricted this time. He was filling while I was swallowing the fluoro (Blech!!!) and it actually came back up in my throat. The surgeon said I'll definitely feel more restricted this time.

My mother is having lapband surgery on Tuesday. I'm so happy for her. She's had a rough few years; two heart attacks, breast cancer, and two knee surgeries. She gained so much weight beween being unable to move and the medications she was given. I'll fill you all in on her progress as well.

Oh, something interesting my surgeon explained to me today. I asked him if the saline evaporates from the bands since I hear of people with good restriction eventually needing fills. He said that the saline does not evaporate but the fatty tissue around the stomach reduces as you lose, making the band looser. So, now you know. LOL!!

Have a great day ABC!!!!

What a great decision your mom has made. The surgery will be perfect to get her back on track to a healthy lifestyle. I am a cancer survivor as well thats why I have short hair, I have 14 months of Hair growth. I know exactly what you mean about not being able to move and all of the medication having an affect on weight gain. In the last 2 months, I am starting to feel like myself again, pre-cancer. It's great!

Thanks Libra and Pelerojo for the kind words. Btw, I miss my cartoon chic too! LOL.

Faybie - What a difference! What a beauty! Keep it up girl!

Calories - I never heard anyone talk about the effect my metabolism would have on the number of calories I take in. I will jump up my calories for a few days and see what happens.

Digestion- I have noticed that my digestive tract and regularity are finally back to normal almost 2 months post-surgery. If this is what happens after minor surgery I can only imagine what happens after a major operation.

Pelorojo, you are so sweet! So funny though, I absolutely hate my hair, LOL. After the chemotherapy, it grew back in curly. I have had long straight hair all of my life. The curly hair has been an absolute shock to me. The funnier thing is.... I have only had one hair cut and that was in July right before the reunion.

Oh and um.... I am wearing one BROWN shoe and one BLACK shoe today =)

I will be taking the special bus home from work today.....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
