Ethical Question

Yep, people say a lot about smoke, but he is very generous with Victory Junction Gang and other charities. He definitely has a soft spot for kids. I think he is misunderstood and seems like a big ol' Teddy Bear to me. Let's here it for Tony Stewart!!! Yes, I am obsessed with him, sigh.

I think that is why NASCAR is so popular. Many of the "stars" of the sport have generous hearts and truly give. Donations are a lot easier when your income is in the millions.

How would you feel if your company started a new charitable organization and was counting on all employees to do fundraisers, added a special place on timecards for you to fill in how much you want to give each pay period, was going totally public with it and having committee meetings to make decisions and plan for the growth of the new charitable organization?

What if you’re not particularly interested in this type of charity, or if you already give more than generously to charities that you’ve believed in?

Do you just, “Go with it?” Or do you decide not to attend and/or participate when everyone else is so gung-ho about it all?

So if you don't want to do it, don't.....don't see a problem here.

For Pete's sake, Diva, here's your bone! I swear, you remind me of someone else just exactly like you that I'm usually completely able to ignore, but for you to pop in one of my threads and change the topic after you've attacked every other thing I've said here? Aren't you the least bit embarrassed to be in this thread pretending you care about my band and weight loss when this isn't even a band related forum? You are transparent, and this is the only bone I'll ever throw ya so enjoy it. Now go start another thread like a nice bandster and ask me about my band in an appropriate manner.

Do we have a moderator in the house? Is this innocent thread about to get locked since they dragged the cancer here, too?

I have to come up with a decision by my Tuesday meeting. If anyone knows anything about the stars, Libras have the most difficult time making decisions, but once they weigh the scales back and forth the right decision is alway the good one.

With that in mind, I supposed I could meet this halfway, but I'll need suggestions for fundraiser other than what I'm already giving. So since I already made contacts with the news and local shelters to see how I can help some furry friends, maybe I can revive two birds with one golden nugget? Ideas?

I absolutely, unequivocally, will not be dragged into donating to a cause that I do not choose of my own free will. I am against any kind of forced charity (including welfare).

You know, microsoft did this. they have an annual charity drive, and the admins would pick who the charities were. We were then browbeaten to give so that they could "win" at being the most giving group. It was sick really.

then when I went to work for Disney for a short time the introductory meeting they passe out slips for how much you wanted removed from your check each time they cut them. not if....but how much. i asked if we could decline, and to do so took a book of paperwork to fill out. nuh uh. i don't think so. i told them i was going to fill it out, and the literally had trouble finding me the paperwork.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
