So I am 6 days Post-Op, and for the first few days it seemed like a struggle to get down 4oz of Fluid an hour. Now I feel like I can sit down and drink that much in one sitting. I'm not sure if this is normal? How much liquid can most people tolerate in time intervals? I also am experiencing Water nausea, and my pouch just doesn't agree with me drinking even sips of it.

I'm 8 days out and I'm getting a lot more down as well. It's important to stay hydrated. Anything extra, you'll pee out!

I am almost three weeks post op and am EXACTLY the same. The first few days after surgery I could just take little sip after sip, but then at about six days out I could drink pretty normally. If I am thirsty enough, I can easily drink a 16 oz bottle of Water in ten to fifteen minutes. I was worried that there was something wrong with me cause I could drink so "normally," but I am not too worried b/c when I try to drink an entire Protein Shake I get FULL when I am not half-way done.

Same here. I'm now 11 days post op and I can drink a lot better also. I figured it was just my stomach healing (ie, swelling going down) so naturally I'd be able to get a bit more in without restriction.

Sounds like we're probably all keeping pace with what should be happening.

For the first few days post op I had no problem getting liquids down. I was easily downing 8 ounces or more an hour. Now that I am exactly 2 weeks post op, I am easily up to 16 ounces at a time. I am logging between 8 to 10 eight ounce glasses of Water a day and could probably drink more, but I am trying not to. I want to keep it at about 80 to 100 ounces a day for now.

If you can drink it and tolerate it...keep drinking, you must be needing it! I am 5 months out and can drink a lot of Water too just like Aimee.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
