I had my gastric sleeve on Tuesday 6/26/12. For years I have been on multiple medications for hypertension. I am 3 days post op and my blood pressure is looking better then it was while I was taking my meds. My Doctor chose not to resume my blood pressure meds at this time. He advised me to monitor my bp 4 times daily and said I may not need the meds any more!

Wow! That is great. I never realized it happens that quickly. That is my one chronic health issue and I pray that it will be resolved when I have the sleve.

Great news & congratulations on your surgery. Blood pressure medications is just one of the health issues I'm looking at either reducing or curing all together. I also have Type-ll diabetes and it's been suggested that weight loss surgery helps with that disease also. I go in on Aug. 1st. to meet once more with the doctor, his team in order to sign off on surgery orders and get my pre-op diet. Looking forward to it.

Good luck on your journey and keep us posted.

Thanks, I am hoping to stay off bp meds for good. Time will tell. I have heard of many people having diabetes resolved immediately after surgery. My Dr says that there is no explanation as to why. Those results are expected down the road after weight loss as with the blood pressure, but it is awesome to see results so soon.

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
