No worries, you have had a lot saline via IV and your stomach is very swollen still. Hang in there, the 5 lbs will drop off like a flash! CONGRATS! :)

Did you gain a lot in the hospital? I know I did.... It took me a good week just to get back to my pre-op weight!

Also, this may seem counter-intuitive, but if you are dehydrated that you also cause you to retain Water. So try to make sure you are getting your liquids in. Your body has been through a lot!

If this continues, and you are worried, why not give your surgeon's office a call?

Thanks ladies. I actually lost 25 lbs within 2 weeks. And this week I have been gaining and I am a lil worried I have not been able to get in all my Protein and liquids I try every day more and more. I weigh myself all the time and I know I should stop. I'm just going to give the scale a break and give it another week before I weigh myself.

The 1st 2 weeks i weighed myself everyday. But week 3 i hit a stall and would gain a few pounds and lose a few pounds and then at the end of the week i was exactly the same weight as the week before. I now try really hard to weigh my self only once a week. That way i really notice the pounds i am losing.

Hello,

I'm 3 weeks post op... When I got home from the hospital, I was up 10 pounds. It took a week to let go of all the Fluid, which I understood and was not upset. However, for the past two weeks, I have been drinking my Protein shakes, drinking plenty of Water, eating small pureed dinners and walking everyday... I've only lost 2 pounds and today - one pound came back! HA! I had expected to be losing weight like crazy with an 800 calories diet and exercise on top of it, but.... it's not happening... I'm doing everything by the book and I'm trying really hard not to get upset. I think it's best to stay off the scale for now, continue to follow the rules and not be so hard on ourselves... It will work!! The weight will come off!! Hang in there!!

swde73 ~ You are 3 weeks post op and your tummy is still really swollen from the staple line. The weight gain is most likely Fluid retention. I love your out look and you are going to be very successful in loosing your weight! I love the positive attitude! Keep Rockin that Sleeve! It will happen. ;)

Step away from the scale. Give yourself 3 weeks without weighing and put a new battery in the scale and try again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
