How Can My Loss Be Slowing So Soon?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I was 9 wks post op yesterday and am down a total of 35 lbs (27 lbs post op). I've only lost 4 lbs the whole month of June!!! :0( How can it be at a crawl so soon. I need to lose atleast 45 lbs to get to my goal. I think I feel extra bad because my surgeon is never happy when I go in for follow ups. He always makes a point of letting me know that the average patient has lost more than me in the allotted time frame and he feels i should have lost more. This only adds to my feelings of failure. **sad face**

Can you give us a picture of what your eating, how much, Fluid intake, exercise routine? this would help immensely. You might of just had the cursive 3 week stall. Can't wait to get this info. :) Wish I could help more at this moment, but will after info. ;)

I lost weight slower in month 3 then I did month 4 and 5. I think the difference was I feeling better and could amp up the activity. I think I was also better about listening to myself and eating smaller portions. Don't feel like it is too late!

Try not to let it get you down. We are all different and I am also a slow loser - slow but steady...but the good thing is I feel great and I look better than I have in years. I changed my diet somewhat and lowered my carbs and it helped a bit, but I also have the confidence that as long as I eat healthy and excercise, this old extra weight of mine will be a thing of the past!

I am currently taking in around 800 calories and under 40 grams of carbs/ 70+ grams of Protein. Had to give up my crackers, but then I broke through a serious stall so I can live without them! Are you trying different things to test how your body loses? Mine is just stubborn...always has been....I get stuck then drop like 5 pounds all at once. In the old days of dieting, this is about the time I would give up and return to my old habits....but not anymore...I'm in for the long haul.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
