I'm sorry you guys are having a miserable time right now! Its hard when you come on the boards and see the people who breeze through this without any pain or other issues and you wonder why you feel so crappy. The good news is that it does get better! I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and last Monday I was wondering how the heck I was going to go back to work on July 2nd but, by the end of the week I was feeling so much better that I honestly think I may have been able to go back next week.

What's harder for me is not the physical feelings but the amount of work and planning that I need to do to eat. Its counting the Protein, the Water intake, trying different foods for pureed but some dont sit well... challenges for me. Having to open my meds and putting it into yogurt or pudding is no fun either. In the end, is it worth it? For me, an unqualified YES! I'm now at the lowest weight I have been at in the past 10 years and knowing that its gone for good - well woo hoo to me!

You guys will get better, I promise!

Gotta say I feel 100% better today than yesterday.....I am now 5 whopping days post op. The miserableness of it all has worn off and I do feel better. Felt so much better last evening that I thought I'd ride with my hubby to his office to pick up his lap top so he can work a little today. BAD IDEA!!!....Was about a 40 minute round trip, bouncing across the concrete roads of Houston. I thought the gas bubbles were over......well, they were after that little trip!!!

So, things I've learned thus far.......

1) every day is better than the one before in the acute recovery phase

2) if you have gas problems, go for a ride in the truck on a bouncy road......in addition to walking - no more gas!!!

3) my son will take my ticket to Van Halen tonight and I will HAPPILY take the t-shirt.......in a smaller size!!

4) sleep is your bestest friend when it comes to changing your out look!

Heal well my fellow sleevers, for tomorrow is another day!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
