Ashley, so sorry your having this complication. Glad they found out you have a leak so they can put the stint in and it will heal. Hopefully soon you will look back on this and have little memory of it. This journey is well worth the little stuff too.... You are going to Rock that Sleeve. :)

Thank you all (: Devon: no. I didn't originally have a leak. I know quite a few people who have done the surgery and not one of them had any complications at all. Just lucky I am I guess. don't be worried, it's extremely rare (and not the surgeons fault, it wasn't there 3 weeks ago). Think of it this way, you know someone with a complication so youll be the other 99 that are ok :D lol

Hope everything goes great today! I remember being loopy right after and having tightness (not really pain, they also did a bonus severe hiatal hernia repair we didn't know I had!) for about an hour I guess. They brought me up to my room (don't even remember that ride) and then I was joking and talking laying in bed with my mom and fiancé. They had me up about 6 hours after surgery walked the corridor (it's a large rectangle floor with nurses wings in the middle) 2x. Slept and did up to 10 laps at a time the next day! The floor charge said I was "a role patient" lol I felt fantastic after. And when the weight starts sliding off oh man you will feel like a million bucks :D

Wow, sorry to hear you had such a rough time. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I haven't got my surgery date yet but I want to be fully aware of the complications that could occur. I hope they can fix you up and your life will become somewhat normal again! Please keep us updated on your health.

Stent got put in yesterday. Woke up in the worst pain I've ever had. Because of the placement, the flap at the top of my stomach is open so LOTS of reflux. With pain, nausea, and acid meds muchhhh better today. They said 24-48 hours for it to subside while it expands to my tummy wall. Maybe I'll get some sleep tonight, hiccups 4x last night and 1x this morning didn't help! Lol

Surgeon gave me a hug today when he checked up on me. When the dr that put the stent in came, he told me he was avoiding my room. He has a son a year younger than me and felt terrible because of the pain I was in yesterday, and he woke up 2x thinking about me last night. Seeing me doing better and even smiling he said he would write me a letter of recommendation for the marines lol apparently the stent is bigger than my tummy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
