Anyone Else Have A Surgery Date In July? Excited And Terrified!

I have been going through all the requirements for months and last week I got the okay from my insurance company and received a surgery date from my surgeon. So many emotions and feelings. Excited, anxious, frightened, happy, sad and all while being confident in my decision. Im not afraid of the discomfort or hard work ahead, but terrified of the worst case scenario's they keep telling me. Im a mother of two small children (2 and 4) and am so worried. I know everyone feels this way, but I don't want to back out from fear. Anyone else feeling like that or having surgery in July like me??? Would love to have some peeps to talk with along the way....

Hi! My surgery date is July11. I am EXCITED!!

I finally have my July 2nd Surgery date! Went to my preop/nutrition class yesterday then came home and ordered my 2oz plastic cups with lids so that I can meal plan ahead. =) I've been on this journey for the past 2 years and can't believe it's finally time! I guess the main thing I am worried about post op is acid reflux. I've been having a ton of it the past 2 wks. My surgeon is Dr Baggs in Richmond Kaiser from what I hear he's the best of the best!

I am Kaiser too, but in Denver. I'm waiting for my date, have my pre-op on Tuesday. My surgery will be around the week of the 16th. I am just finishing my classes, and have been in the line for almost exactly a year. I've already got my 2oz cups and just finished shopping for my 3 day fast and my first week post-op. I'm really ready to get this done, and feel great about Kaiser and my care. Everyone has been really kind and sensible.

You have every right to have ALL the mixed emotions. This is my 3rd time to

Go through the approval process. Each time I found a 'reason' not to proceed. Very unsupported family members helped changed my mind. (they do not know about the surgery this time) I Was approved in 2008 for bypass' date=' (thankful now I didnt do the bypass) I know this is what I want, I still struggle everyday. I just think everyday how much this will improve my health and how I want to live healthier for the rest of my remaining life.[/quote']

I also have family who would not support me if I told them I was having WLS they would try real hard to talk me out of it so I just never told them and after all is said and done I'm still not telling them

I too have a July surgery date - July 24, which is truly a birthday present to myself since my birthday is on July 29. I will celebrating with chicken broth and sf jello :D !

what doctor are you going with and where. I was just asked if I could change my surgery from the 23 to the 24th.

I feel just like you. Excited but nervous!! I just keep concentrating on how much longer I will be around for my kids and how much more of life I will be enjoying.

Surgery is on July 24th. I cannot wait any longer. I have one more lecture/group session on the 3rd and then preop with the surgeon and nutritionist on the 12th. Hurry up and be end of July already.

July 7th here I come!!! Peace and blessings to us all!!

My date in July 11

My sugery date is July 17th.

I'm scheduled for July 18th, and like the rest of you; have mixed emotions. But, I'm forging ahead, and start pre-op this next week!

Nervous? No. Second thoughts? No way. Excited...HELL YEAH!
