I have been going through all the requirements for months and last week I got the okay from my insurance company and received a surgery date from my surgeon. So many emotions and feelings. Excited' date=' anxious, frightened, happy, sad and all while being confident in my decision. Im not afraid of the discomfort or hard work ahead, but terrified of the worst case scenario's they keep telling me. Im a mother of two small children (2 and 4) and am so worried. I know everyone feels this way, but I don't want to back out from fear. Anyone else feeling like that or having surgery in July like me??? Would love to have some peeps to talk with along the way....[/quote']

My date is July 10. Plus son's wedding is July 1. Glad I can have one meal a day according to my nutritionist!

I have a date also 7/10 and today is my first day of nothing but skim milk for 2 weeks!!!!! I did have some non fat yogurt in the morning as I do Water aerobics 5days a week and don't want to get weak during workout. Have you started your pre op diet? What do you get to have? Start of our weight loss and healthier numbers. Katie

Lol u lucky dog... u get milk!!!! I love milk... but my surgeon calls it my sugar.. my addiction... even though I only drink skim milk he said its still "drinking my calories" therefore a no-no lol. My surgery is july 17 and my surgeon is more strict than any I've read so far... preop is only lowfat, sugar free Clear liquids... so basically Water, sugarfree Jello, and bariatric broth. Ughhhhh.. I want this so bad so I will do it but its not going to be easy!!!

Your sounds like the one I've been following all month. Had a few small bobbles, but it's all good. I did the two Protein shakes , two sugar free Snacks and a low fat now carb supper every night. Guess I'll find out how I did tomorrow. Good luck to you.

Yesterday started my pre op Liquid Protein diet. I feel like crap, but know i=

n a few days it will be better. I'm excited to actually be able to maintain r=

esults from eating a healthy diet. I know I'll be fine and intellectually I k=

now I have made the right choice for me. I am more frightened about any chan=

ce, even a miniscule one, of leaving my babies without me. I don't know if i=

t's irrational to be so afraid, but that's how I'm feeling. Best of luck to a=

ll of you. Here's to a healthy fresh start!

Nervous about surgery? Of course. But, when I think about there being a definitive end to the misery of my whole adult life, and pain free, I'm psyched. Any diet I've ever started has been an "if I succeed", but for the first time ever, this is a "when I succeed".

I like that "Not If I Succeed but WHEN I Succeed"! Great motto!

I'm so excited! Good luck to all of us!

I have two little ones as well and I want to and need to be here in their lives, I'm just so ready for the surgery part to be over with and be all healed up! The hospital called me today to ask their questions and asked me if I had a living will...I know thats a question they have to ask but ugh, I am just so very nervous guys. Sometimes i feel fine but then most of the time i just freak out. I haven't been sleeping well and im just so ready for this to be over with and me looking back on this like "you made the right decision look how great you look now!"

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
