Shiny, 2 was my magic number. I got my second fill 10 weeks after surgery and I maintained that number throughout my weightloss. Hope you have great success with that fill.

This band is like a dream come true. I just can't believe how great it has been for me. Someone e-mailed me this morning and asked what my secret was and all I could say is there isn't one. I just follow the lapband guidelines. I love my band!

I'm madder than mad. And I've taken a step back so I won't fume.

My children enrolled (transfered from Provo) to SUU. Didn't know it but the dorms kick them out the last day of school....nope, not the day after but the last day. My daughter had 2 finals and they (housing) scheduled her moveout inspection at 11 am. Her final was at 11am. Then they griped because she told them and they moved the inspection to 4...but she had to work.

Boy oh boy. Can you imagine a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior cramming for finals, burning the midnight oil...but have to move before classes are over?

I pulled my kids out of SUU and they will not be returning. I'm looking into going back to UVSC but have to find a rental...anyone have any ideas? We need a 2-4 bedroom. I have great references, am retired military so I pay my rent on time, every time.

So steaming mad! I sent my other kids off to the movies so I could meditate and figure this one out. SUU is very student unfriendly.

Oh, want to add...I'm disabled from Desert Storm. My kids have a dorm on the third floor. So I went to move out my daughters things (the one who had to work) and the elevator was out.

But they knew this happened each and every movein/move out day....but how in the world can I climb 3 flights of stairs, move boxes and mini fridge? I couldn't. I sent my 13 year old (having a slumber party) sent all those girls up to the 3rd floor to clear everything out.

And SUU will still charge my daughter hundreds in fees due to her not being present to sign out.

Boy oh boy...they will not even place a call for the elevator until everyone is moved out.

Discrimination if there ever was!

Wow. That sounds very frustrating, Grace. Sounds like you're making your statement by not sending them back to SUU. I'm not very familiar with that particular university, but they really should work with students during finals. My goodness, why can't they close the next day? Sounds like someone in charge was impatient and wanted to get done quickly.

On a side note, I was surprised to read that you have college-age children. I had somehow assumed that you were a mother of young children. Don't know why, I just did. And thank you for your service to our country. So sorry you became disabled thereby.

grace, i think you should tell them if charge her fees you will sue them under the americans with disabilities act.

that's pitiful

Thanks! Just did. I sent SUU dean of students an email and gave them the opportunity to correct this.

Can't believe they are going to charge me when I can't even get to the floor...and they knew in advance.

I am crying so much.

Guys, don't want a sob story but I'm first generation LDS. I have three children and still single...yeah, figure that one out.

But I wanted better for my children. I've had them in church with me and they were baptized, too.

And being the blacksheep of my family means I have no support. And here where I live now I have no support...VTs don't show up and what's a HT? - haven't seen one in years.

Back in another ward I was teaching seminary and I learned (don't know if it's supposed to be like this...but...) that the single sisters are to be tended to, but some bishoprics only notice them if they are 'needy'.

Perhaps that's why I've gone under the radar for years and years as I'm not needy. I attend every week, am temple active...don't call for this or that. I really do try to be self sufficient.

But now I am running into a major issue. If I don't send them back to SUU, we have to move so they can attend somewhere else, right? I have a lease and the costs were tremendous getting here, to only pick up and move?

I'm not quite as mad, but disappointed, yeah. Feeling shafted, yeah.

I'll let you know what they say. But I can't afford them to tax on charges to my childrens accounts...cause I can't pay them and SUU will not let them go if they have charges on their accounts.

Thanks for listening.

Grace - All I can say is Keep Up the Good Work. Sometimes it seems that the harder we try to do what is right, the harder it gets. I admire what you're doing. Raising your kids in the Church, staying active, holding true to what you know is true and doing it all as a single parent. Now that takes a lot of work and not all of us would be able to do it on our own. You have a lot to be proud of, but none of this makes this fight any easier.

In regards to VT and HT, it seems no matter where you live we all have that problem. I think the last and only time I saw ours was at Xmas, but then my husband isn't very good at that either.

Keep us posted and let us know how the battle comes out. I hope they come to their senses.

talk to your bishop about the whole situation. maybe he can see about new ht and vt being assigned to you.

what does the school do if you dont pay the bs charges?

They charge the student's account throughout the year for fees, tuition, housing, deposits, etc.

If there is not a ZERO balance when it's time to register for the new term, they won't let the student register....meaning take classes.

My kids already registered for summer and fall....but if SUU tacks on all types of cleaning/improper move out charges..... they will appear on my daughter's account. Then when we pay summer tuition, the balance will still be there, same with fall. She gets a grant in fall so SUU will probably take her grant (as it's added to the account).

But if we just never go back, they withold transcripts. Then they very well could send this to collections, ruin credit....

It's not good. They blocked my access, they blocked my ability to clean and move out...not me!

I think some schools withhold transcripts if all fees aren't paid.

Nasty, but true.

Ug, is it time for visiting teaching again? I know I'm not alone when I say this, but I really really dislike visiting teaching. My companion and the women we visit are all much older than I am... all they seem to talk about are things that happened in the 40's and how I'm much too young to know/remember/care about such and such topic. It's like an hour (or more- yes, each visit is LONG) of youngun' bashing time. I've never really enjoyed going visiting teach, but this just drives the point home. I always volunteer for the lesson and try to talk, but there's no point, it's the same ole thing every time.

I'm waiting here for my companion to come pick me up and I am DREADING going. I wish this weren't monthly, I wish it were semi monthly- at the most.

because of my work schedule (work overnight) and the inability to get with others during the times I have free they finally gave me a writing route. I write to 2 sisters a month, these are sisters that don't want visits but like getting little messages. there is one sister in my work that does like 15+ each month. talk to your RS presidency and see if you can not be re-assigned companions or have a writing route if your ward has one. good luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
