A Size 8? Who Are You Kidding?

Recommended Posts

About 2-weeks ago I bought (ordered online) some size 12 pants because my 14 were way to large on me. I bought some jeans and dress pants, and a XL belt. They arrived and I was floating in them. Thankfuly I had to go to Atlanta Friday, so I decided I needed to return them. I did, and much to my surpise I was able to put on a size 10. Never in my entire life would I have thought I could be that size. Much less not wear a XL top. Well, I'm down to a 10 in pants and skirts and a L in tops and dresses. Nice.

However the sales lady brought me a size 8 in jeans. I'm thinking lady you are crazy. But, I got them on, zipped and was tucked into them. Much like wearing a size 24 like last year, but hello...I actually squezed into them! First lesson learned, no more buying pants online...I need to try them on now.

It's funny. I look at myself in the smaller sized clothes, and yes, I do love the classic lines I can finally wear. But, to be honest, I would be totally happy if I could stay in a 10. Who knows where this journey will take me, but I'm lovin' it.

What I do hate is my saggy skin on my leggs. I hate wearing shorts and swim suits. I know I'll have to have surgery for this, my arms and tummy, but that's to come in the future.

Good luck with your journey. I'm grateful for how far we've all come.

I've been going through the same thing. It's just weird to look at the smaller sizes and go, "no way...." but indeed YES WAY!!!

Awesome!! It feels so good! I had a pair of my favorite Levi's hiding in my closet. I took them out last week(12's) put them on, too big!

My daughter asked me" when's the last time you wore those Mom"? I said, uh never. She could not stop laughing! Then she pointed out to be that they are slightly hanging off of me, LOL

Wonderful! Not a size 8 yet, but I went from size 22 to size 10! I had my surgery 12/13/2011 and I've lost 63lbs.

The really weird thing are the jean sizes. I am like what the hell is a 31 or 30? What does that mean? I am still confused. I did just go from a 31 to 30 and fit in size 8 of some brands...size 10 for others. I have to get the thigh lift! My thighs are yucky too. I can wear bermuda shorts :)

I'm wearing the bermuda shorts too, and thankfully they are in this year.

I feel you're pain. The crazy lady gave me a size 31 in Mee Too jeans which are low-riders....not gonna do it. I looked funny in them.

Congratulations. That is awesome.

One of the things I have noticed, which never was a problem for me before, is the whole:

For Dockers, I where a size 32 waist, but for columbia, it is a 34. Gap is 33 and Levi's I fit in a 32.

Before, I just threw on my 40s/XXXL and went. I never noticed a difference in manufacturers sizing, but now, it is a factor. I guess it was easier for the fat to just squeeze around, but now, I'm down to bone so there is no give.

You're all so inspiring! I can't wait to see myself in a smaller size. For now, I'm just enjoying feeling everything fit so much looser. :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
