Miserable With Bc

Recommended Posts

Idk what it is but this birth control- all I've tried make me feel miserable. Currently I'm on the NuvaRing and love it for convience sake but the hormones are unbearable. I just don't know what else to do.

What does your OB/GYN suggest? There are some no-hormone type IUDs out there. Other than those, I don't know anything that doesn't have hormones in it. I was on the Nuvaring for years & loved it, but just switched back to a pill because I think my body was finally sick of the Nuvaring because I started spotting in the middle of cycles about 6 months ago.

I'd really suggest talking to your OB/GYN about it. They are usually very knowledgeable about the options out there, especially if hormones are an issue for you.

I feel you! I did the Nuva ring pre surgery and holy crap, it did me in. Went from happy go lucky to depressed and crying in a matter of days. And I'm not generally sensitive to meds. I typically do ok with the pill, but am crap at remembering. Now that I've got to take so many other Vitamins daily maybe I'll give t another go. I'm only 3.5 weeks and single so haven't been too worried about it, but should figure it out soon

Get an IUD. The ones without hormones are great. I know women who have had them for a very long time with no complaints what so ever. Once it's put in , you can pretty much forget about it.

I had the IUD Merena prior to surgery and it was great. I still have it and I have about 3 more years to go with this one! I don't have to remember to do anything but go to my annual check up. I love it and so does my husband ! : )

How does the iud works do u get periods ? Is it 100%

U get it placed inside u, the para guard is good for ten years, no added weight gain and no hormones, works for 10 years. Worst case scenario an arm can break off and u will have to replace it, luckily I haven't had that problem.

Everyone is different, but there is a common thread that a lot of us have issues with hormonal BC post op. I don't really know what it is that causes it but you see a lot of complaints. Maybe it's that we're already hormonal post op because of the fat cells that store hormones being burned off. Who knows?

You'll just have to find what works for you. If you go IUD do your research. I loved some parts of having Mirena (hormonal IUD) but I could not lose weight on it and it increased my hair loss. I have heard good things about Paraguard (non-hormonal IUD) but for me it wasn't an option, as I needed a hormone to control endometriosis.

I had almost no periods on my IUD - very little spotting for a while and then nothing, though, so if that's what you want it might be the option for you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
