I never had acid reflux before surgery but since surgery I have it so bad. I take 4-5 pills a day for it. This seems to be the norm. I was told to take an antacid for the rest of my life.

I hate GERD and I have been really struggling with it lately. Everytime I eat, I cough and cough and cough - sometimes until I throw up. :( When I lay down at night - same thing, even though I haven't eaten for 7+ hours usually! I was really hoping that it would be totally fixed from the surgery... anyone else? Did it heal it for anyone?

not eating makes it worse because the air in your stomach pushes the acid up

I need some suggestions on what to take for the acid reflux! I tried Pepcid complete 24 hour, but it didn't work 24 hours, I ended up having to take a second pill

Ok here is what I do which helps. Take a pepcid once a day to control the acid overall. But go to Walmart and get their brand acid reducer which u can take as you feel all the pressure and uncomfortableness. If you do not want to combine those two still take the pepcid once a day and when u feel it coming on take a chewable pepto tablet or a maximum strength liquid antacid. This will relieve you. Try to drink Water after meals because water helps settle the acid as well. I hope this helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
