So I've Been Know To Complain Alittle

Recommended Posts

About all the pre appointments and testing that I've had to do to get ready for my surgery. So far I have had the consult, blood work, upper GI x-ray, Endoscopy, seen the cardiologist, stress test, pulmonologist, Gastroenterologist, NUT, psych eval, EMMI online tutorial, pre op ed class, 2 support groups and soon to have a sleep study done.

I had my appointment with my cardiologist this morning to get my results from the stress test and as I get up to sit on the bed he pulls out the papers and told me that the test came back within normal range (great!) then he asked if anyone called me concerning the results (no) and he pulls out the paperwork and on the front page it says in all caps in green marker " MAMOGRAM NEEDED!!!" <-----writen exactly as that, only underlined three times as well.. Not once but writen three times throughout the paper work.....He explained that the isotope goes throughout the body and shows in any areas of concern. "There is a mass in your left breast that we need to check out that showed up on the x-rays" Mamo and sonogram tomorrow morning for me. While he is telling me this the nurse puts the BP cuff on me and I tell her of her lovely timing. Ha ha but I wasn't really thinking of laughing. I barely remember driving home... This "mass" maybe nothing.... and that's what I am tending (trying) to believe. Kinda hard though when the nasty "C" word runs in my family. Breast cancer in particular.

So I have been known to complain about all of these pre appointments, but I won't anymore. I'm choosing to look at this in a positive way (at this moment anyway :) ) and deal.

Best of luck. My prayers are with you that it turns out to be nothing. It could be a shadow or dense tissue as the isotope you were given for a cardiac study isn't specific for "c"cells. Im a nuclear med/PETCT/xray/ and CT tech. I hope this is the case. But stay positive, as, IF something has been caught in the pretests it can be taken care of. Hugs to u.

Sending you many many many positive vibes! Our family has been heavily touched by breast cancer.

But there's also a good chance that the "mass" is just an area of calcification and it's nothing. So stay positive and wait to see the results and go from there. One day at a time dear. Worry now will only make you feel stress you never needed to go through if it turns out to be nothing.

Let us know how things go! And good luck!

I have copies of every mammo I've ever had because of a mass in my left breast. It hasn't changed and is probably related to breastfeeding many years ago. (I had mastitis twice.) Don't let the doctor's ill-advised phrasing scare you. Just go have the mammo and cross that worry off your list when it comes back normal.

All three of your responses have really eased me, THANK YOU! Lissa, I breastfed up until about 2.5 years ago, Praying that's all it is! Thank you guys so much! This was just something I never thought I'd hear my cardiologist say. Threw me for a loop!

I'll keep you all updated!

Oh wow, I'm praying for you for sure! I have 2 friends in their early 30's that both had to have a mammo, but both came out benign masses. It may be something more common than we really hear about perhaps. Praying that's what this is :)

I love your attitude! So many people complain about the "hoops" they have to jump through for insurance. In this case, it's either caught a problem early (although we're going to maintain there isn't anything to worry about!) or it will give you proof that you don't need to be concerned with any breast issues. I'll say a prayer for you and believe it will be just a blip on the radar to your ultimate destination - being sleeved.

Keep us posted.

EXACT same thing happened to me. The breast study came back requiring another exam and reading. Only thing I could think of was "really, after all the tests it is my breast stopping me?" Of course I have dense breast tissue. Mine turned out okay.

Either way, these tests have either taken you step forward in WLS or in catching C must sooner.

Keep us in the loop. You are in my prayers.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
