Sounds like you're using the dots. You can also get it in subliningal liquid. I haven't used the dots but do you hold them under your tongue like I do the liquid?

With all the supplements we have to take, I am so thankful my dr gave me shots to take. Feel like we're supposed to get full off pills sometimes lol.

I find that different brands dissolve faster or slower. Walmart's is pretty quick dissolving, Nature Made not so fast. You can also tuck it between your cheek and gum toward your back teeth and let it dissolve there.

I got the sublingual liquid. It doesn't taste all that great, but it's tolerable.

I use the dots...you just have to sort of swirl them around in your mouth :) they won't dissolve if you just pop it in.

Doh, silly me had been just crunching them up & didn't read the directions about letting them dissolve!!

Okay, letting them dissolve now though! I have Nature's Bounty (found them at shoprite), they are raspberry flavor I think & dissolve pretty fast.

I take 500mcg daily of sublingual B12. It's the first "pill" I pop each day. I put it underneath my tongue and let it dissolve while I'm getting my Water and sorting out the rest of my meds. When it's nearly dissolved, I chew up my tums, which puts enough saliva in my mouth to finish dissolving the B12. The drink of water after the tums are chewed takes care of swallowing the rest of the B12. Then I eat my mini babybel before I swallow my Multi-Vitamin and chase that with the small pills i take (biotin, albuterol, acid reducer, etc). It sounds complicated, but takes me under a minute to do unless I chew the cheese up really small for some reason. The cheese keeps the multi from coming back up because Iron on an empty sleeve for me is a sure recipe for getting sick.

I do the liquid. Thirty seconds under the tongue, then swallow and I'm off ... :)

ty all for the advice. it is interesting to see how different some of our pills are. we are told no tums, not the right kind of Calcium. told to take the B12 with dinner, letting it sit under our tongues. i thought about the injections but i have real bad anxiety with injecting myself.

I take Tums because other forms of Calcium interfere with other meds I take. :)

Why does it have to go under the tongue? I have been taking it for months because it helps with energy, and I just chew it. They are the cherry ones from Wal-Mart. I didn't know they were supposed to go under the tongue until I read it on here a few days ago lol.

Something called "intrinsic factor" is made in the stomach and is required to absorb B-12 there. Since most of our stomach is gone, the intrinsic factor is gone as well. B-12 can be absorbed through the mucous membranes of the mouth and cheek or when injected into muscle tissue. Probably also through nasal mucosa, though I haven't tried. When you chew it up and swallow it, it's not getting absorbed adequately. You probably get some absorbed as you chew, but once it's in your stomach it's not helping you much at all.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
