Stage 3 Diet - How To Tell When You're Full?

Recommended Posts

I started stage 3 diet today and did well with my first meal (scrambled eggs) but didn't really feel full. I stopped because I only made 1/3 cup of egg beaters, but I could have probably ate more. How do you know when you're full??

For most people at this stage, you don't know when you are full and eating too much has negative consequences. So, the best bet is to eat measured amounts and stick to it. A half cup at the most or a quarter cup to be safe. Don't push it beyond that.

For me, I get literally a feeling of fullness. Or hiccups! Haha!

I burp and get a runny nose. :-) That's my new "I'm full" signal. Seriously. I know when my nose starts feeling drippy that I need to stop--and I'm over a year out!!! You'll discover your new signal as you go--and it probably won't be the same feeling that you had before surgery. Best wishes to you!!

I get the hiccups if I eat a bit too much or eat too fast :) You'll figure it out eventually. For now though, definitely only eat what you measured and wait a while before eating again. You really don't want to push at this stage.

I get the hiccups too when I over eat or drink but usually I feel when I am getting full n I stop literally at 1/3 of a cup. With liquids I can drink 6oz. No more ..sometimes at 4oz I guess it depends wat type of liquid it is...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
