Went For My 2 Month Postop Yesterday

Recommended Posts

I saw my surgeon yesterday for my 2 month postop(surgery march 20) and I have lost 40 lbs, a total of 55 since october,pre-op. And now I can eat cooked veggies along with meat and still can have soft mushy foods,so I am content with how much ive lost and look forward to losing more.

Great job, I am so happy for you. It has to be so nice to be satisfied and happy with the progress made. It's nice to see someone happy with their progress too, as my day approaches!

Hey guys, I too had surgery March 20. You guys are doing great. I've struggled with getting my Protein and Water in daily, how are you guys doing? I've lost 45 since surgery but a total of 68 counting the pre op diet but that all happened during month one. I've been in a stall for about 3 weeks now...this is depressing b/c I'm worried I won't get off the rest.

it happens, dont worry about it.One thing my surgeon always says, dont weigh yourself everyday,it can be misleading, and stress you out unnecssarily.Just make sure you are getting all your Protein and liquids everyday, and if instructed to do so,all your Vitamins and minerals, which i do faithfully eveyday.

this too will pass:)

I'm 4 weeks now and I have only lost 22 pounds since before my surgery included. Since 4/12 that's all ive lost. I do weigh myself everyday and nothing no loosing. I'm scared this is it. I'm having a lot of trouble getting the Protein down, but I do have other Proteins. Like cottage cheese, Beans, LENTILs any ideas what u guys did to keep losing. I want to be a loser to not a gainer. All you guys sound like u guys are doing great.

I always weigh myself every day and always will. It keeps me in line. If you are in a stall, try eating nothing but Protein and no carbs ( not even good ones ) for a couple of days, and make sure you drink atleast 80 oz. or more of Water and you will see a weight loss. Don't compare your weight loss to others. Everyone is dfferent and your weight loss is great. Ask yourself when the last time was you have lost 22 lbs. on your own!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
