Weird Feeling In Throat...

Recommended Posts

Since I started on my liquid phase of the preop diet. I have this weird sensation in my throat. It feels like there is an air bubble trapped or a full sensation like you need to burp. Hard to describe. I think it might be acid reflux. I've never experienced reflux before. I took two omerorazole and I didn't see any change. I'm not affected by this feeling just annoying. Any ideas?

Sounds like acid reflux! Try tums or Pepcid complete to see if it goes away

Thats what I use! If it doesn't go away I would get it checked before surgery just to be safe

I noticed this morning it didn't bother me when I woke up but after I got up and started doing a few things, and setting on the couch it's definitely there.

I've been noticing that I have an intermittent soft stop what feels kind of like my throat is closing, which I could also describe as something like an air bubble blocking my throat. I also have what seems to be between a soft stop and hard stop where I get a mild pain at the base of my throat.

But it sounds like yours is there all the time...? "Stops" are generally only while eating, though they can last until everything clears up.

I have had this feeling since surgery some days it is gone but most the time it is there. I am thinking it is because I am having acid issues. I do take Zantac daily but if I am getting close to my next dose that feeling comes back again. I have also noticed that it gets better if I have something to eat so maybe it is my hunger sign.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
