I am three months out and I ahave not excercised... not once!!! And I have finally hit a stall. Since surgery, I have lost 54 pounds but have been stuck for two weeks. I know I need to become active but I am so tired when I get home. Here is what my schedule looks like.

Monday - Saturday

5am- I have one hour... wake up, get ready for work, try to get some Breakfast in and make Breakfast for kids and make sure they are set to go for school before I leave.

6am- hit the road and fight downtown LA traffic

7am- begin my day. I am a phlebotomist so I have to run from patients to the lab all day. Guess what??? Im not allowed to have food or drinks in the patients rooms or lab. This makes it very hard to get my Water in. So I try to get as much in during my lunch

4pm- Clock out. And Im hitting the road by 430 to pick up my daughter and take her to cheer practice by 5.

5pm- Drop off daughter and head out to pick up my son

6pm- Pick up my son from practice and head home... more traffic

645-7pm- home and time to make dinner. And now I see my hubby.

8pm- clean up and help kids with homework while my husband does laundry and takes care of bills and such.

9pm- Im so tired now, I shower and watch some TV because this is my only down time and maybe I can get a few hours of sleep.

If anything is thrown in, I am running behind by a good hour or so and sometimes dont go to bed till about 10:30 or 11. but that only gives me 6 hours of sleep and who wants a sleepy needle coming towards them??? scary

Sundays we try to make it family day because we are so busy. But also sunday is our grocery shopping day and my only day off

WELCOME TO MY WEEK

I now know why we ate so much fast food. I know I need to excercise but really I am so tired

WOW! I am tired too, just from reading your post :) I too went 3 months without working out but not so much from being as busy as you just from not feeling good. My only suggestion would be the type of exercise for you to get. Don't necessarily view "working out" as going to the gym. Incorpoate exercise throughout your day doing things you like to do. Also the workout doesn't have to be a vigorous one, just try walking more for instance. I work out 3-4 x's per week and most of my work out is for my weak knees. Carrying around all this weight broke them down so now I have to repair the damage so I can be upright the rest of my life. I use a recumbant bike for 30 minutes, weights for my upper body for 15 minutes and knee exercises on my bed for 15 minutes. Even though I focus on my knees my whole body gets a work out and mentally it gets you in a better frame of mind to stay true to your eating goals and weight loss. Good luck to you and congrats on the 54 pound loss in 3 months ...Well done!

OMG- your schedule is BRUTAL!

A proper diet is #1 on the to-do list as a sleever, but #2 is exercise. It sounds like you are doing fine on your weight loss already (54# is awesome!) and your job is pretty physical, but is there any way you could incorporate your family into some exercise? Even some crazy Wii Fit or family walks/bike rides? And dont forget.... Sex counts as exercise ;)

As fellow Cali-girl.... I feel you on the traffic! I think I read somewhere that Lissa carries small weights in her car since she spends lots of time on the road. If its not too distracting or dangerous for you, give that a whirl.

Could you and another mom walk while you wait on the kiddos?

Maybe alternate pick up dates with another mom?

Take the stairs at work (cliche i know, lol).

Could your husband alternate pick up dates? Or one pick up one child and one the other? even just occasionally?

Ok, don't smack me for even suggesting this but do you get a lunch hour where you could walk for 30 minutes? That's the only place I can see you fitting it in. I used to live in west LA so I feel your pain on the commuting and with kids and a husband to take care of, where's time for you? Could he do the pick-ups/drop-offs some nights so you could go for a walk? I'm a single mom and I have a hard time finding time to exercise too. The only time I can do it is in the evening and I'm often tired and/or want to spend time with my young son more than I want to hit the treadmill. I haven't been exercising for a couple months and I see a real difference in the time it takes to loose a few lbs!

I am not waiting when I pick up the kids. It's more honk and go. And yes, I do take the stairs. I'm running all day. Literally running. Carrying a tackle box filled with tubes.

I'm thinking of getting one of those pedometer thingys just to see how much walking I actually do at work.

Well just try to add in a little here and there - You could park a little farther away. Do a few crunches while watching TV or before bed. The walk at lunch or a break is a great idea. When things with the kids slow for the summer make time for yourself! Get in to a routine then and you will find a way to incorporate it when school starts back up. I have been told that exercise on the job does not count because your body gets used to it. Example - the mail person.

It sounds like you are already getting a workout!!!! I'm a nurse and works 12 hr shifts and raising a family, I feel your pain about not finding enough time to work out. Hang in there and park as far away from work as you can.

Maybe while your kiddos are at practice and your waiting for them you could squeeze in 10 or 15 minute walks

Maybe on Sundays or Saturdays u could make several meals for the week. My mom used to do that. Make one or two casseroles to have later n the week that will only need to be reheated or crock pot meals that can be put together n the morn n ready by the time u get home then u could steal that time to get n a little workout a couple days a week. Also u should maybe ride with a little cooler n ur car so u can get n some needed nutrition on the go.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
