September Bandsters

Recommended Posts

When something gets stuck...don't panic....drink some hot Water (hot enough for tea) or hot tea....and it will slide right down! I had a cream of wheat incident...I now eat Gerber Rice with Bananas when I want Cereal. I had part of a meatball get stuck...which was crazy because it feel apart on the fork..so I thought ..okay no problem...yeah right. Also I found that there is a big difference between albacore tuna and chunk light. Chunk light is denser....and wicks liquid like a sponge and becomes even more dense.....even though its has way less fat---albacore is the better choice.

I got my first fill yesterday....omg i felt the restriction as I was walking out of his office (he said I should have felt it as he was injecting the saline. I still feel it as I sit and type. lol and...lost 2 lbs since yesterday..crazy huh?

OK I have this feeling that I should know this but what is PB.. I am assuming when the band is blocked and you have to throw it up..??????? Was I supposed to learn this somewhere or is it lapband slang...

Btw, thanks a bunch for the feedback.

As I understand it, PB stands for Productive Burp. But not a productive burp in the standard sense, like a dry belch. More like an up-chuck as my mom used to say.

And if you don't want one of those, stay away from bran muffins.

I had a tough week, and actually gained two pounds mid-week, but by the weekend I had dropped two, and then two more by this morning! Yeah! So, that's -2 for the week. I like doing a challenge like this, because I really do think about the Monday weigh-in, which helps me be good over the weekend!

Has anyone heard of the new program by Oprah's Dr. Oz (and Dr. Rozein?) called "You, on a diet"? I'm picking up a copy of the book today. I'm not sure whether it's completely compatible with band-eating, but I like their very healthy approach to eating, so I figure I'll gain a little nutritional knowledge, even if I can't follow the program 100%.

Are we posting weight loss for the December challenge today? I keep losing 2 and gaining it back. It really sucks. I get my fill tommorrow. I'm a little scared, but hope it helps. I'm wanting to see results! Please post a gain of 1 pound. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
