Where are all the Michigan people at??
Good job on the nonsmoking Mary. I believe you will be quite pleased when you get your band!!! The team at Grand Traverse Surgery is wonderful. I see Dr. Nizzi there. He's terrific. I have heard good things about Dr. Featherstone and Dr. Slikkers also. I have been at a stand still, but I go for a fill Jan. 18th. The holidays have been hard food wise for me..... But this is a New Year and I am so gonna get to my goal!!! Keep us informed, by the way I see you are from Kalkaska, I'm from Mancelona, not too far away if you need support let me know!

I guess the biggest thing I'm doing is watching my carbs. I avoid bread, potatoes, pasta, sweets, also no alcohol. I also make sure to drink all my water everyday. I make sure to get in about 1200 calories per day and always eat proteins first. Also I'm more active. I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. I've only had one fill-1 cc. I'm really excited about my weight loss, but am nervous about the holidays--I LOVE SWEETS!!! You are doing so well also, it's not easy but it's worth it. I know I wouldn't be able to do it without the band and all the support here. Have a great Thanksgiving!!!- September Bandsters
Onederland, Onederland, sweet sweet Onederland. Okay so just barely Onederland but hey it's been a looooonnngggg time. Weighing in today for Christmas challenge at 199 :clap2: down another 3 lbs. yipee- September Bandsters
I have a hard time drinking regular water, blah, so I drink flavored water. My favorite is Powerade Option, it has 40 calories for 32 ounces, and comes in a few different flavors. I like grape the best, also strawberry. I take 2 to work everyday and get 64 ounces of water in by 3:30 anything after is a bonus. Some may think it's a waste of calories but I'm glad to get all my water in and my doc says it's fine. Also crystal light has some good flavors too with less calories.- September Bandsters
Hey mom sorry late posting for challenge. Weighing in with Monday's weight 202 :clap2: another 3 lbs. gone yipee- September Bandsters
I have talked to people who went through a depression phase a couple months after bypass surgery, which I know isn't the same as lap band but still a life style change. Some said that keeping a personal journal helps. I feel that the holidays are going to be hard. Food has always been a big part of my holiday traditions (cookie exchanges, etc). Anyone else out there a little stressed about the holidays food wise? I hate to see all this hard work go down the drain (or worse yet up the scale). - September Bandsters
