Tmi' date=' but my top 3 things are:

1) wiping my butt without trying to be a contortionist.

2) shopping in any store I want and wearing pretty clothes, and heels that don't hurt

3) just FEEL BETTER!!! Inside, out, and mentally!![/quote']

OMH MGM. You are funny. This is hard to narrow the list to 3, but I'll play

1. Sitting with my knees together like a lady, not spread so far apart, like a truck driver

2. Weighing less then my husband does. 6'3 and within 5 pounds of 160 lbs for the last 27 years!

3. sleeping without my c-pap machine for sleep apnea.

The 3 things I'm most looking forward to are:

1. Taking a picture with my oldest son when he graduates from college this December

2. Taking a picture with my youngest son when he graduates from Basic Training in March of 2013

3. Taking a picture with my 2 daughters when they graduate from college in May 2013

Like most of us I have always hidden from the camera, and I'm going to spend the rest of my life taking picture with the ones I love! For me, this is about shedding my shame once and for all!!!

Ok so I'm not real sure what three things I want to list cause I have so many. We all share some of the same things. One of mine that I do look forward too and some may find this humorous. But I work on my parents ranch. I love riding horses, actually miss it. I don't ride much at all anymore cause I have dreams at night that my horse collapses when I saddle up. So I so look forward to feeling comfortable on my horse and not like I am gonna crush her and see her smushed to the ground with all for legs out to side.

lol awwww i love the visual..u wont have to worry about that soon! i want to go horse back riding when i drop some weight too!!!! good list!!!

My BMI is 44. It doesn't help that I'm stiff and my back hurts a lot! Skinny people just don't get it! I sure didn't imagine these things when I was skinny. So, when I am skinny again ;) (i hope) i won't look at large people the same again...cause I know what we go through. Can't wait til this begins!!

Nice to see you over here ICandothis. I am very sorry I never thought to mention this forum to you when I first met you the other day. Exciting, our days are counting down so fast. I will try to look you up as soon as I get there if I am able. My name is Jennifer or Jenn as I usually go by.

Seems like those of us going to Dr.Alvarez are just staggered enough that we won't cross paths at the hospital. I wish we could at least pass each other in the hall while walking off our gas pains ;) I guess we will just have to meet up at one of Dr.A's patient reunions. I am hoping he will have another cruise!

Thanks for telling me.....I will be able to see both storm and Joyce because I am in the middle.....I can send messages...hahahahahahahahahaha....I am on the liquid now and feeling good.....hugs all August sleevers

So my three things are a little different. I am a musical theater actress. I huge part of getting thisurgury is to broaden my career. So my t hree things are:

1. Being able to play more than a handful of lead roles and not always being the friend or the mom etc

2. Getting my headshot redone and being happy with it and confident sending it out!

3. Being able to cleanly land a triple pirouette again

4. Not being a problem for costume designers who always have to male my costume specially

:)

So, what are 3 things your looking forward to doing when your thinner???

1. I love to cruise and go to the beach SO I look forward to being able to go to the beach with my husband and not feel so body conscious.

2. Being able to walk up the steps without taking the steps like I am 70. Hoping that losing weight and exercising more will increase my leg strength.

3. Shopping for cute clothes. Right now I HATE clothes shopping for all the obvious reasons.

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
