Hello curto I do have a regret, I regret that I didn't get it sooner I love my sleeve I follow my doctor plan and exercise I started at 299 and now I'm 231.6 so yes I regret of not getting it sooner

Well, I had one or two thoughts of "why did I do this to myself?" in the first couple of days post-op, when I was feeling pretty lousy (nauseous, in pain, etc.) but since I had read beforehand that this was pretty normal, I managed to get over them quite quickly. Since then - NO WAY! I love, love, love my sleeve! Now I'm not going to say that I haven't had any issues as a result of the surgery. I sometimes end up with food stuck in my sleeve if I eat too fast or too much (I really try to eat according to the new rules, but sometimes slip up) and then end up throwing it up so I don't stay uncomfortable for hours and hours. I have a hard time swallowing large Vitamin pills. It's not always easy to get in enough Protein and liquids. But these are all minor issues compared to the big one (no pun intended), which is, obviously, my weight. That makes me happy enough to easily ignore all the minor issues I have to deal with - especially knowing that this is weight that I will hopefully never put on again.

i must say what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. First day post op i thought omg why would anyone do this, then by day 3 its starts to fade. I saw it as breaking up with food almost like a relationship at first its hard, sucks, then after a while you know its gonna be ok and as the scale starts to drop you know it was the right desicion.I believe most of it is mental , you will get threw and cant wait to hear what you think 6 months post op cause already at 2 weeks i am good.

No regrets, no issues--look at my ticker! From a size 24 to a size 6. I am so happy; I don't find it difficult to eat Protein first and remember my Vitamins.< /p>

I have no regrets. Look under my picture and you'll see 1 reason why. Look at my ticker and you'll see the other. :) I'd have given my eyeteeth to lose 100 pounds and here I am, nearly there.

I did have one moment of "What did I do?" about a month ago. I was actually thinking to myself "What if I starve to death because I can't eat enough later?" And then I smacked myself in the head, went back to working out and got over it. I'm in NO danger of starving to death, and won't be even when I hit goal.

The only thing I regret is not having done this sooner.

I can echo only what everyone else has said, I only regret not doing it earlier.

I will be honest I had my surgery on 4/11/12 and I was like what have I done. I was able the first day to drink Water and some crstal light. the next day everything went down hill. I was in the hospital until 4/15/12. went home for two days and went back in because every drop of Water I would take in came right out. All this was dueto an infection I had. I stay in the hospital until the 4/24/12. At home had some scare but push thru it. Yes mental you have some regret but once you feel better you lose those thought. Everyone is different and what happens afterwards is what give you regrets. Now on solid diet and walking 30 mins a day five days a week.

Good Luck

Its a mental challenge and i know it will get easier in time however right now it is really rough to watch ur family eat whatever they want as u eat ur small spoonfull of yogart... This is just my opinion.. And i hope everyday it starts getting easier.... Good luck to u....

I also regretted not getting it done sooner

On day 2 or 3 post op I had a slight thought of what did I do to myself. Only because the gas pain was so bad. I am now 14 days out and know that is the best thing I could ever do to myself

I had my surgery on March 15 and for a good while afterwards I seriously regretted the surgery. Then again, I developed some complications (blood clot, infected incision, etc.). Now, I wouldn't use the word regret. Just frustrated. I just wish I had gone into it more informed. While I had done a LOT of research on the surgery, there were plenty of things I didn't find out until afterwards. I'm incredibly mad at my doctor for not warning me about these things like an increase in depression in some patients, low energy levels, stalls, draining wounds, problems associated with no/low carb diets, etc. I understand that they don't want to scare off patients but I get really pissed off when they act like this sort of stuff never happens. You read enough of these forums and see what problems people go through and you would think that the medical professionals would at least be honest when you ask about post-surgery issues.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm NOT trying to scare you off. I just think that everybody should be as informed as possible going into major surgery. You'll probably be like most and have no issues whatsoever. At the same time you need to know just in case you are in the minority.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
