@ moreganK in June and July I got my Tom that is twice in the whole year well this August and I'm waiting for it again but when I had it it was very painful I drank hot tea and put heat packs which helped a lot another thing our body is not use to have a menstrual each month but I'm hoping that the pain gets better as time goes on.

I'm pretty sure you can only update on the site, not app.

The reason why not everyone has tickers or updated information for that matter is because the mobile apps do not provide this information. I primarily use my iPad to use this site so I can never view anyone's ticker, profile, etc. This is why I always ask people about their SW, CW, height etc. They probably think I'm being lazy and not checking out their profile, but I just can't see it in the mobile apps. I also cannot update my own ticker either. I sure wish they'd update this app, it would make life in VST easier for all of us.

Just realised (while answering the leg shaving thread) that since the surgery I have been taking better care of my self all over. I exfoliate all over, shave, pluck, wax, mani/pedi, moisturise, oil, preen and basically spend way more time on me than I can ever recall doing before.
Is this a common phenomenon or have I just become more vain?
I feel good. And I think I look better than ever. So I am not complaining, I just never realised how much care I wasn't giving myself prior to surgery.
I tried to post pictures yesterday and fAiled, so I just changed my profile picture instead. I am 65 pounds lighter than I was 10 weeks ago. I love my sleeve and the new me. I loved the old me as well, but interesting how the love of the new me involves a lot more attention!
I posted the picture I have here as my profile picture onto Facebook yesterday and was swamped with messages telling me how great I look. I wept reading them all I was just so happy.
I know I look different but I am surprised to find that I am treating myself better as I never thought I treated myself poorly.
Sorry this is a bit of a ramble, I was working it all out in my head as I typed!

OMG people! I just busted my lip raising up my knee to tie my shoe.
I am in my office chair and I leaned forward slightly raised my foot off the ground to be able to reach my foot to tie my lace, and I raised my knee so high I smashed my lip!
No belly in the way, so it just kinda "wham"...sooo happy no one saw it here, yet had to share...I take them where I can get them!

So, I finally broke down today and went shopping for some clothes. Specifically, I was looking for jeans, work pants, undies, and a couple of tops. I've floated through six different Goodwill stores, but hadn't found anything in an 18 I even wanted to try on, much less buy, even at discount prices. So, today I went to the Outlet Mall near my house.
I tried on several pairs of size 18 pants and jeans, but they all fit way too loose in the seat area, although they were comfortable at the waist. Finally, the saleslady suggested that I go down a size to 16s... and they fit. The waist is a hair tight, but they fit perfectly in the butt/thighs. That was the jeans! For work pants, she brought me a 16W and that fit perfectly as well!
So I totally skipped 18's!! Even better, I bought undies in a size 14. I bought 5 pairs because I know this size won't last long and the 14 is a perfect fit. I've always bought one size smaller than my pants in the brand I prefer (Cacique) and it was the right choice today as well!
So, from a 24/26 pre-op to a 16 today. I think I'll happy dance a little bit! Join in, please!!!

Not to burst any bubbles, but the hair loss usually doesn't start until about 3 months out. A lot of people are under the impression that it starts falling out right away, but that is not the case. That being said, some people don't lose any or very little. From the people I have talked to, the ones that lost it just lost it no matter what they did or tried. From my own experience, I was 3 months post op when my hair started falling out and I lost a lot. I lost until about 9-10 months post op. The only thing I found that helped me at all was Biosil (not to be mistaken with Biotin). Biosil is a silcon supplement which is suppose to help hair and nail growth as well as skin. I didn't start taking it until later but did notice that it helped my new hair coming in.
I am now 20 months post op and all my hair is back in and healthier than ever!

It's not really a fear, but a concern. Since wait loss with the VSG can vary so much I briefly consider a different surgery for bigger losses, but then I remind myself of why I'm not doing the other possible surgeries. I have a large goal, and I don't hear many female VSG'ers in the weight bracket of near 300 getting down to 120-130lbs in a short amount of time if at all. But congrats to everyo.ne else where ever they are in their journey.

I use mine all the time. I do a lot of stew-type foods in it. chicken Chili, Lean pork shoulder in the crock pot until it shreds and then add some sauce to it. Taco Soup. Regular chili.
The moist, falling-apart meat is really easy for me to eat at this stage (I'm about 6-7 weeks out).

    crock pot -super simple design.

kenni reacted to Lissa in Caffeine?
Especially in the early post-op stages, it's hard to stay hydrated because of swelling in our sleeves. Caffeine is a diuretic and pulls water out of our system, so it's best to avoid it. Some doctors only require that you avoid it for the first few months (like mine). Others ban caffeine completely. I had such a hard time breaking the diet coke addiction that I avoid caffeine completely.

Water dilutes the food in your sleeve and pushes it through faster, making it easy to eat more than you should. You want your protein to stay in your sleeve so that you don't get hungry quickly and mindlessly snack.

Stretching the stomach as in making a whole lot bigger, I can see it being an old wives tale, bloating the stomach and causing un-needing gas and bloating, it's a fact. Carbonation does bloat the stomach, bloat the stomach a few too many times....then who knows.
When you have 100's of doctors saying not to do it, and a few saying it's a wive's tale, I guess we all have to use our own discretion.
