Clothing Switch Over Provides A Whole New Nsv

Recommended Posts

Just spent the weekend changing over the winter clothes to the summer clothes (a new england tradition) I knew there would be some clothes that would not longer fit; but did not realize that 95% of them no longer remotely fit my new sleeved body. Rather than keep the old clothes, just in case, I have chosen to remove it all so I can't go back. I have always been considered a nice dresser and people I work with have actually asked me for my "too big" clothes - so, I have divided them amongst the people who have supported me over the past few months, put some in consignment and gave some to the homeless shelter. The experience was cleansing and rewarding. My closest is clean for the first time in years.

When I finally got my sandals ready for the summer - I realized they were all too big as well - I have never dropped a shoe size before. So off to the shoe store I go - this sleeve is costing me some money !

So many changes in four months - emotional roller coaster for sure.

Don't you love it? I have been getting rid of stuff that I put on and it's too big...it's the greatest feeling in the world. I hope by four months that I can purge 95 percent of my clothing...I still have some cute smaller clothes that are still in style...hopefully, by winter, I will need all new clothes.:)

Love the NSVs....

It is definitely expensive trying to keep up with new clothing sizes! I've found my favorite second hand stores searching for the best deals.

Is there a local support group or the surgeon's doctor office have a program where you can have an exchange.

I love the fact that my surgeon's office has once a month where you can take your larger clothes and exchange them for a smaller size. I have heard that there are also some local support groups that do it as well. It may be listed under another type of surgery, but a clothing exchange, is a clothing exchange

It feels amazing right.... I've donated sooooooo many bags of clothes to a coworkers friend who is a bigger girl. It feels good to purge.. but now I dont have much... I'm not complaining though!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
