Kelli' date=' that's great about last night. Can't believe your B/F has still an attitude about this. You would at least expect a positive acknowledgement even if it is tough for her to do if she values your friendship - the jealousy must be eating at her terribly to try and give not say anything..fantastic that others around you noticed and those size 12 jeans - awesome :)

I went to a Xmas party last night and walked into crossroads yesterday and felt so good to buy a summery dress (size 18) and above knee length..also got heaps of compliments and hubby admitted he was very jealous of how great I looked and going out without him....

Sorry haven't been on for a while - I became a 39 year old grandmother this week so hence busy with her!![/quote']

I thought it said size 1, I was going to faint. How do you go down to a size one in less than 6 months? Lol. It was just jealousy. Congrats on becoming a grandma. You will have so much energy to run around after her and be bouncing up and down off the floor instead of struggling under all that extra weight. Good on you 8)

NSV this morning :) I fitted into my size M BeMe shirt that my mother optimistically bought for me about 12 months ago. It even has satin trim on it - that's a non-stretch material lol :) And it fits great!!! What an awesome way to start my Monday!!!!

Hope you're all having similarly good days!

Nice! I bet yiu felt amazing and as for the food' date=' its funny that people notice how much others DONT eat! If you had a plate piled just as high I bet they wouldnt notice that.[/quote']

I notice how much other people eat now as I eat so little I am usually finished quickly then have to sit there while others consume what looks like massive potions to me now, but used to be standard fare before sleeve.

I do the same thing - I have to stop talking about it though :) I think I am getting a little boring on the subject. It just seems so amazing to me now. For example, I used to eat two or three of those frozen spaghetti bolognaise meals in a sitting (and would still be hungry). Today, I got one for my seven year old and looked at it thinking, there is no way I could eat even a quarter of that!! Holy crap!!! It's incomprehensible to me how much I used to eat just a few months ago!!

And because it is all so new, I feel my friends and family watching me to see how much I am eating...which makes it worse cause then I get nervous and can't really eat which looks to them like I am eating less than I really do (and then I get the lectures on needing to eat more - never heard that before in my LIFE lol). It's a weird new world out there post-sleeve :)

Hi all, I've been reading the last 107 pages before I post- wow, so much info, has been very helpful and interesting. I had the sleeve done on 28th November, the first 4 days are a blur, glad to get home from hospital and in my own bed.

I started at 110kgs and am now 97kgs... It would have take. Me proba ly six months on WW to loose this much.

Looking forward to see what the future brings for me and all of you.

Have t really had any complications, on soft/mushy food now, seeing the dietician this week, need to sort out my protien, but really surprised his much enery I have.

I have great supportive family and friends, also supportive employer as well - they all have visited me in the first week and are interested in how they can support me.

Looking forward to reading more posts and hearing everyones experience.

Ciao for now!

Am off for a pre-op visit to the anaesthetist tomorrow arvo. When I had the band the anaesthetist simply popped into see me in the hospital just prior to surgery. This one wants a separate visit to his rooms. When They called to make the appointment I was told that a gap of $750 must be paid at leat a week prior to surgery, however it would be best if I could pay it to tomorrow along with $150 consult fee. I'm not complaining about paying a gap but thought it was a tad rough to ask for it 5 weeks prior to surgery! Anyhow will pay the consult fee tomorrow of course but have decided to pay the gap early in the new year. Hopefully they will accept that.

I had to pay the $500 gap in cash the day of surgery at the anaesthetist's office across the road. I wouldn't pay the $750 until it's due. Good luck.

Thanks Kelliv, will pay when it's actually due. Am quite excited tho because this appointment brings it yet another step closer. Have work Christmas lunch next week and nothing to wear!!! Don't want to wear a usual work outfit but don't feel good enough about myself at the moment to buy something new. Hoping something miraculously appears in my wardrobe lol.

Hi Kate, the only people I know who get paid before they provide a service are doctors ....(I'm a Nurse which I think gives me the right to be cynical about the medical profession) my Surgeon wanted all of the 'out of pocket' money this week and I am talking about thousands of dollars (He's taking my Band out in 2 days and my Bypass is not until March 2013), the Anaesthetist wants $500 and the Assistant Surgeon wants $500 before Thursday.

I hear your pain about paying 'upfront'!!!!!!! :(

I hope everything goes well for you, I think we are having surgery on the same day....my Band is coming out on Thursday 13.12.2012.

Hi, just curious as to how come you are having a bypass rather than a sleeve once your band comes put??

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
