Great news Kelly - I set those same goals and I have been chipping away at them. My next one is to get under 70kg! If I do that I will be in the healthy BMI!

I have been quiet because I have had a lot on lately. Went to the NRL grand final last night - we had seats six rows from the front near half way - it was great - I have never been to a grand final so great first experience!

I have also been really worried about Lila - do you know it there has been any news? I think we are all aware that there are risks but the reality of it is a very long road to recovery which most of us don't dwell on too much! I really hope she is OK.

How are you finding eating. I have been very naughty lately as I have also been out to the races all day on Saturday so between football and races you can imagine the type of food I have been eating over the weekend - and I had half a beer! That under 70 kg is looking further away every minute!

Hi Sue, you were lucky to go to the final. I am certainly finding socialising and eating out a bit of a challenge, but am coping ok. If I am going to have one glass of wine, I do it when I first arrive, then wait before eating in small portions. I am trying to eat all required food groups each day, but don't always get everything in. Today I had a piece of gluten free fruit toast and banana for Breakfast, a skinny hot chocolate from Max Brenner, chicken salad for lunch and what was left over for pm tea, a Tomato juice, 6 raw peanuts and 1/4 cup lamb with cooked tomato, onion and capsicum. I will have some rockmelon at about 8.30pm for supper. Based on today I didn't reach min 3 serves of grainy carbs or 2 serves of dairy. I did get enough Protein, vege, fruit and fats. It sure is complicated these days!!

I have also lost 1kg from yesterday to get to my next goal. It was fluctuating for the last week and a bit and just wouldn't go under. Woke up this morning and promised myself that I wasn't going to weigh myself till Friday but couldn't help myself and jumped on the scale. I was so happy to see it under and ready for my next goal for the start of the month :)

Scotty - great news on the sale of the car and op back on. You will feel so different by Xmas...

Susie, can't wait to hear how your going when you weigh yourself. I really need to put the scales away for a week but I'm obsessed with seeing it going down. Saturday and Sunday was not the best eating as well as we had bbq's etc so a little of potato salad, kebabs etc so was actually nervous to see what was on the scale so was very surprised. Eat really well over the last 2 weeks then eat poorly and finally scale moves, so weird

Lila, hope your are ok and just focusing on getting better. Can't wait to hear some positive news from you

That's fabulous news Kelli!

I'm one of the in betweeners. I don't even have a surgery date yet! But i'm looking to ask for late January' date=' I have a holiday booked at seaworld in the first week of 2013. It will be our first since my little girl was born and I don't want to spoil it.

I'm a little quiet since I feel like I cant give much advice as I don't really know what being sleeved feels like, I do know what overweight feels like though![/quote']

Your input is always welcome and I am sure you will learn so much on this site. I certainly did so pre surgery and still do now afterwards.

Being under 70kg is a healthy BMI for me too and it's my ultimate goal. I would like to try for about 60kg which is a BMI of 23 for me below borderline lol! I'm hoping time get there by Xmas 2013' date=' I'm 109kg right now so have 49kg to lose. Wow seems like so much to me.[/quote']

Don't worry Mimz. Once you have the sleeve you will be amazed at how the weight drops off. The great thing is that the op gets rid of most of your hunger so you are never feel the urge just to eat and eat - if you are hungry it is easily satisfied. You will be thrilled with the results and those 49kgs will just start diminishing - I had 35kg to lose and I remember thinking how am I ever going to be able to do that and keep it off! But with the sleeve it is all possible!

Hi all. I've been quiet too of late. I work in the food and beverage dept of a leagues club and you can imagine how busy I've been leading up to last night. Plus school holidays etc. did you know it's only 85 more sleeps until Christmas? Neither did I until at 6 am I was woken up and informed. *groan*

Weight has been steady' date=' not stalled, just coming off very slowly. Joined the gym and realised that you have to actually GO to get the benefits of it. I'm sitting at about 73ish kg ATM, surgery weight was 86 6weeks ago. I know I had less to lose and I'm happy with what I've lost, but I still can't see a difference in the mirror, and I'm hearing all these big numbers, which I'm jealous of. 10kgs until I'm in the healthy weight range, although I'd like to lose 15 more.

I traded in my old size 16 work shirts for size 12 which is a good thing, another NSV I guess.

Still have 2 more weeks of soft foods before I'm on full solids. I can eat 1 chicken tenderloin with a bit of low fat dressing and that's about it. I'm stuffed. Still struggle to finish an Optifast shake or bar. Drink at least 1L of Water a day and have had the swisse hair skin and nails Vitamins since before surgery, but they are HUGE so haven't started taking them yet. I take a nexium everyday, and can really tell the days I've forgotten it. Acid feels exactly like hunger. Will keep taking it.

That's about it for me. Hope every1 is well and I'm still thinking of Lila.[/quote']

I know what you mean about not being able to see the difference in the mirror - I am the same! I know logically that I have lost the weight and I can see it in the smaller clothes but when I look in the mirror I still seem to look the same! I was telling my surgeon about this and he was really interested - probably time for another appointment with the psychologist!!

Your diet sounds really good - I am not getting enough Calcium - as calculated by my dietician - so have to make sure that I take my 2x2 huge calcium citrate per day. I am still finding it difficult to remember to take those as they have to be taken separately from other supplements and Protein meals and you have to take on 2 at a time as that is all you can absorb at one time - you are not kidding about being complicated!

Thanks Shell - yes really happy so far. I am expecting the weight loss to really slow now as I am getting close to the goal I set for myself and have been very lazy when it has come to the exercise!

You are looking great yourself. It is amazing to see the transformation.

Has anyone else got any photos - would love to see them!

A current photo! We were off to the races!

Wow you look awesome, such a huge difference.

I am the same ladies, I am having a fight with my head every time I look in the mirror. All I see is fat. Yes I still have 50ish kgs to lose but I have lost 26lg so far and my clothes are falling off and people are complimenting on a daily basis but all I see is my big tummy and legs and arms.

Maybe I should get another photo and put them beside each other just to see. It might help my brain actually see before and after.

So funny how the brain works.

I think getting a pic and putting side by side like you said. In sure you will be quite surprised how much change you will see with 26kgs. That is great achievement and you need to know big changes are ahead of you and for all of us.

I did that with my pic and my family nearly fell over when they saw it side by side.

I love hearing everyone's progress.

Sueoco - when was your op and how much have you lost if you don't mind me asking...it looks as though you would be very close to goal, so great.

I'm aiming for another 15 by Xmas and then on the home run for the last 15 by mid next year. Would love for it all to be done by July (1 yr anniversary)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
