I Dont Feel Any Different

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on Tuesday. I came home today on the liquid diet but I don't feel any different I kinda feel hungry but mentally I would eat. I am drinking all the liquids yet I don't feel full...what's wrong with me why does it feel like im the same besides the pain in my stomach

That is exactly the way I felt! The first couple days after being discharged I wondered if I had even been sleeved LOL! It's definitely a physical and mental process. I am a little over 4 weeks out and still figuring out when I am hungry and when I am full. I know when I am OVERFULL because I have thrown up at least six times these last couple of days...but I think I am getting there. Just know you are totally normal and the further out you get... .. you will "feel" your sleeve....

Your don't feel "different" because you are really not that different. If you don't have complications, it is hard to tell from the outside that you have had anything done. You don't feel full because the liquids just flow right on through.

Be glad that you don't feel that different now, stick with your post-op diet (it won't last forever event though it may feel that way), and when you start eating more solid food, that's when you will feel the difference.

You are in the first few days of a lifelong journey. Enjoy the ride to the new you...Kathe

I completely felt the same. Some of the first few days, I wondered if I ever had the surgery at all. I actually was hungry on and off the first week, then the hunger went away. As strange as that sounds, it took my stomach a week to catch up to the surgery.

You WILL feel different, although it may take a little while. You'll be amazed at your energy levels, at how much easier it is to move, and at how much weight comes off your body in such a hurry!

You'll also have some moodiness once the hormones those fat cells are storing start dumping themselves into your bloodstream, so be prepared for that. And, at some point, your libido is going to return FULL FORCE and then some! :)

Congrats on being sleeved and enjoy this journey! It's a blast and a bit of a roller coaster ride! :)

I had my surgery on 4/23 and I was discharged on 4/25 eating puréed food already. I read so many posts however that most people stay on just liquids for weeks. I guess every surgeon has a different plan. Anybody else eating so soon after? I definitely didn't desire ANY food until yesterday. Now I'm hungry all day and I want to eat a pizza :). The thought of pureeig a pizza makes me not want one so fast!!!

I absolutely agree with that. You still feel hungry for a while and the liquid does not make you feel full. Trust me, the minute you try something with substance you will KNOW you have been sleeved. You will get full really fast!

This actually made me laugh. Too funny. I am looking forward to see how if things in the bedroom are different once I loose a big amount. I am sure it will be and to be honest, I am really looking forward to it. :) Sorry if that was TMI. hehehehe

Funny you should mention that. We went to our PCP on Monday and asked her about getting a vasectomy for my hubby.

We don't want kids (I have a 20 yr old stepson and an 84 yr old Dad with Alzheimer's to take care of .........that's got me more than busy!).

I was sleeved on Tuesday aswell, and was discharged yester evening. I do feel bloated and not really hungry. I am trying to walk around my house because our elevators are not working and I live on the fifth floor. Hopefully we can share our experiences throughout this journey

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
