I may not be able to have the sleeve done orthoscopically. How much longer is the recovery rate?

Unless they want to go in through your eye, yes, she must mean laparoscopically. The only time I have heard of someone not being a laparoscopic candidate is because of too high of a BMI. What is your BMI? Is this the reason or what other possible reasons are there?

Otherwise, they would have to do an open procedure, which, then you are talking about at least another week for recovery. Ever have a C-section?

I know you mean laparoscopic (my mom confuses the two all the time). I'm guessing you have scar tissue or issues from previous abdominal surgeries? I don't know the difference in recovery time but I would get a second opinion either way. My first surgeon prefers open, so I found a new one!

I would also be looking for another opinion.

My surgeon usually gives +2 weeks for open procedures vs. lap.

You could always have it done through the vagina.

I don't know why you may not be a candidate for lap, but can I ask if it because of something to do with you, or your surgeon?

(e.g. not all surgeons are laparoscopic surgeons, so they may only do open procedures... and some patients prefer open because they like the idea that the surgeon can really see what's going on, etc.).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
