Thank You All! I'm hoping to inspire others. I had a no flawed great experience with a fantastic surgeon! No pre op diet, no drain tubes, no insision pain. Stayed in hospital alone, was discharged to full duty the next day at 1:00 pm. I didn't even need the pain pills he sent me home with! I had real bad gas that was very discomforting to burp up but the infant gas drops helped with that.

Thank You ; ) I did not really do anything special. My surgeon was so cool that he told me to go at my own pace so I went to the gym only once a week. Walked on treadmill at a very fast pave for about 15 minutes the lifted weights for about 45 minutes.

I mostly skipped the liquid phase and went straight to sugar free oatmeal with flaxseed and low fat strawberry yogart to sweeten it up. I snack on mozzarella sticks, sf Jello, all natural Peanut Butter, skim milk, tuna, grilled fish, and 100 to 130 grams of Protein per day. I'm drinking about 32oz of Water per day shooting for 64oz perday.

I realized that colas, junk food and fast food made me fat. With that in mind I look at those things as poison now and do not consume any. I don't miss it either.

Six weeks post op and I'm off diabetic medication and no longer use sleep apnea bipap machine.

I'm sick with a bad cold right now but look forward to digging in deep at the gym as soon as I get well.

I'm not bragging but I'm a 6'2 big boned country boy that's always been strong as an ox. I had no problem doing 100lb sets of squats, presses, and pulls the week after my surgery. That's just me and everyone is different. The only exercise that I have avoided is doing sit ups and crunches. I want my mid section to be fully healed before I stress it.

I reluctantly bought four 2lb Body Fortress Protein powder for 14.99 each at Walmart. I will be switching to a better one as soon as I run out. It clumps' date=' taste gritty and has whey concentrate. I was told by 2 pro body builders to avoid anything that said whey concentrate. They said buy the whey isolate only.[/quote']

Thanks, I guess that's for body builder

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
