thanks all went under at 2:35 and woke up groggy at 6:30 i had some pretty

uncomfortable pain right on my sternum no where else though but it lasted until

like 11 at night ...if i lay down i get the pain every 3 or 4 minutes it lasts

for a few seconds then goes away..but if i stand up or walk then that goes away

but then i feel sick a lil and feeling like wanting to throw up..so right now im

sitting on my bed ...just took the leak test and they said i passed that ...i

got ice and i can sip on Water so thats huge since i havent eaten or drank

anything since 8 pm sunday so about 32 hours..oh also at night good thing i

caught it ..but when tossing to my side i noticed the iv was dark ..turned on

the light and found out i disconnected the iv and was bleeding all over the

place through the iv that was kind of scary ..but i had a nurse come in and they

gave me a new iv ...i did throw up blood last night i guess thats normal since

a lil blood goes in the stomach when they perform the procedure..im feeling a

lil hungry and sick so im going to relax

Hi & congratulations. :)

thanks all went under at 2:35 and woke up groggy at 6:30 i had some pretty

uncomfortable pain right on my sternum no where else though but it lasted until

Most likely residual gas. You're pumped full of CO2 during surgery. Sometimes some can linger, and unfortuately it's pretty painful. As you've figured out, walking helps. Heating pads always help me. You can also try laying on your left side & bending your right leg up as close to your chest as you can get it. Also some yoga poses that can help, but I don't think they'd make you feel any better this freshly post-op... more harm than good!

Nausea & what not is fairly common. Part anesthesia, part your stomach was severed, part reaction to the meds - who knows. It should subside. I didn't have any so I can't tell you how long it took me to feel better, but seems like 3 - 4 days is a good bet. If your nausea gets bad, make sure you tell your nurse. They can give you Zofran or something similar through your IV and you should feel much better afterward.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
