Im A May Sleever!

Recommended Posts

Good luck Lori! Sending positive vibes your way!!

I am 5 days out, had mine on may 1st. Feeling pretty good but when I do to much I get exhausted. I have 3 kids at home so the chores never end! I am down 25 lbs since I started the liquid diet on April 16th. Can't wait to get to eating phase I'm so sick of protien shakes. A nurse told me people have the best results when they follow the drs. Instructions for the first 3 months! Good luck all of you! It'll all be worth it, I'm counting on it. Lori

I've been using bariatrics advantage chocolate and vanilla mixed with Water. 3 weeks and I'm sick of it. I just switched to rasp lemonade bought from same site has 17 grams of protien.

It does hurt if you take big sips go slow and small sips. But it does sometimes hurt not too bad.

Does anyone think right after surgery a couple days out, it's normal to be emotional? I've been crying all day. Over pictures, all kinds of silly things!

Anyone else going to have their sleeve in May? I'm excited and now the nervousness has set in. I am reading a few posts that people are in the hospital for like 3 days. My dr said I would only be in the hospital one day. And that I would walk the same day as my surgery.... Is this something they tell everyone or should I plan on more than one day there? Either way' date=' my life changes May 16th and I'm excited <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

May23rd for me

I was in 2 night 3 days, yes you do walk right away, I just had mine done may 1! Feeling pretty good. Belly still sore hurts to burp or swallow to much and also really cold hurts. It's manageable.

I have read here that many of the ladies get very emotional after the surgery - all at varying stages - it apparently has to do with hormones that you release after surgery. I don't have my surgery until May 17, but I can remember when I had my lap band my moods were all over for about 4 months afterwards.

Hope your feeling better soon :)

If you have trouble taking small sips use a small spoon to help it is getting me through the small sips.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
