Am I The Only One............

Recommended Posts

that wakes up all throughout the night with gas & reflux (throwing up a little)?

I'm 19 days out and no matter what I consume, Water, Protein Shakes, Vitamins, I'm up all night belching or having the reflux thing. I am on Prilosec 2 times a day and I do take one right before bed. I'm not getting much sleep because of this and I return to work next week!!! I switched my vitamins from thr chewable Bariatric w/ Iron to gummies and I am trying unflavored Protein today, just in case they are the cultprit. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem.

I did too... Try sleeping propped up on pillows.... That helped keep my reflux under control during the first 3 months.

you are still swollen inside. It will get better. I slept in a recliner for the first 3 weeks to make it easier. Once swelling went down I have slept like a baby:)

I'm one week out and I wake up every night because of horrible gas pains in my chest that radiate up and down my stomach. It feels like someone is ringing me inside out. I'm hoping it gets better too because it is seriously painful. Can't stand the spasms.

Rosswife. So glad to hear I am not the only one. I am 19 days post and after every meal for about an hour and before bed and through the night I feel like I'm having a heart attack. It's awful. I am on ppi but am struggling to even eat two spoonfuls of food without incredible pain. Going to see doc tomorrow as quiet worried about this.

Have you tried taking your second pill an hour BEFORE bedtime so that it had time to work before falling asleep?

I usually take the 2nd pill about 30 mins before I lay down because i will usually fall asleep with in 1hour or so.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
