I justed to share with everyone that I am back on track and said farewell again to the devil in disguise, Diet Coke. I just woke up and drank a GNC 25gram Protein Shake. I'm not going to blame myself anymore for my 2 week relapse. It was a waste of time. Now all my energy is geared to being back on track! Yay me! Two and a half months out, I never want to return to the pre-surgery girl!

OMG, this is so awesome! You can do this, diet coke sucks big time! It's an addiction and the best thing to do is to stay away from it permanently. I've drank it for the past 20 years and have given it up, started drinking it again numerous times. Finally I am free of that addiction! here's to a healthier life! Cheers! ;)

Diet coke is my downfall. I did really well post surgery, but now 2 months out I have started drinking it again. Much less, only 1 can a day now but before it was 3-4 cans per day. I know i need to stop the pop all together, but boy is it hard!!

Aaahh thanks Dorrie! I got hooked when I was a little girl. My parents didn't have good eating or drinking habits. I cannot believe how fast my cravings came back with the Diet Coke. Today is my first day again without it so I hope the headaches are not as bad as before surgery but I'm prepared! A lot of people say to drink it flat but it is not about the carbonation. That is what makes it so wonderful especially with small chunks of ice! Okay enough day dreaming, flat or carbonated stay away from it! Amen Dorrie! I am happy that you are off of it too!

One of the things that keeps me from going back to drinking that evil diet soda is the fact it contributed to my hunger and feeling hungry all the time. Once I stopped drinking it post op, I started losing weight. This is the same thing for my husband. He stopped drinking diet soda and he also lost weight. ;) It's an all win situation! ;)

NickMac......me too! I did good post surgery and then 2 months out I took the sip I so longed for and then it turned into choosing it over Water. I started sweating a lot and getting hot. Pre-surgery I could do a 24 pack. What is it about it? I never liked coke so it wasn't like I was choosing to drink the diet version. There should be Diet Coke Anonymous..right?

Completely agree!! I wanted the pop so bad, and I think I was secretly hoping it would make me vomit or something after surgery so I would keep off of it, but no such luck! It goes down way too good!

My husband is so happy I quit Diet Coke. He drinks coke but that has no effect on me. He should quit too, ya know? Double standards I tell ya! I definitely believe the hunger pains though with the DC. I think it makes your tummy pooch too even by itself. I wonder why?

You are my mirror image nicmack and you crack me up! Everything goes down good for me too, especially the forbidden liquid....grrrr. We have double trouble now because our sleeves are so abiding. Many times I wonder if I had surgery because I don't experience stuff like others.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
