I was told it can happen at 3-4 months and could add in hair and Nail Vitamins if worried

I had significant Hair loss that started around my 3rd month post op. Which drove me crazy cuz my hair was the one thing that I've always loved about myself. I lost a bit more than 1/3 of my hair in a 1 month period. I found a product called Kemon that has a Shampoo, styling foam & a treatment that you use once a week. This along with adding biotine & zinc to my Vitamin count did wonders & my hair is growing back in nice & full as it use to be. Your local hair stylist should be able to get it for you, just tell them that Industry Source carries it. They are a supply company that only sells to licensed cosmetologists. Hope this helps :)

It's probably going to happen. It's an exception when it doesn't. Expect it to hit around 3 months out. As advised previosuly, just search for it -- threads abound.

I'm losing hair, too, but not by the handfuls. I know that it will stop eventually, so I'm not freaking out about it. I did it with both my boys, and every abdominal surgery I've had. Nothing can shake the joy of being the lowest size I've been since I was 18, and I'm old.

I'm feeling the same way. I have lot's of hair, and I haven't heard of anyone going totally bald. I will have to try the zinc, and bio stuff. I had my surgery on 12/12/11 and I have lost 62 pounds. start weight was 260 and now I'm at 198. I'm loving it. God Bless.

Same here, hair starting coming out at 3 months and Im 10 months now and its just now starting to slow down, but its very thin now....Happens to all and if you dont have it is very rare..........Just keep taking your Vitamins and it will aid in regrowth when the loss has stopped but there is nothing on the market to stop it . Just think of it this way, better to be thin/fit with thin hair then fat/unhealthy with full hair........trade off is so worth it  Good luck on your journey.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
