I'm Sleeved!

Recommended Posts

Day 6 and I feel 1,000 times better! I drank 63 of 64 ounces of Fluid yesterday and got in 60 of 90 grams of Protein. By far, the best I've done. I got in all my Vitamins and medication as well. I have to get up super early to start my first shake and Vitamin, this is an all day process to give my body what it needs, but consider how I am feeling today it's totally worth every second. Who's surgery is next?

Thanks for all the updates. It has been very helpful. Glad the gas seems to be gone. That is the part that I am so not looking forward to. I sent an email to the anesthesiologist. I wanted to be sure that my recent sinus infection and cough was not going to delay my surgery. I have not heard back from her yet, but she may be in surgery. I hope I don't have any delays and can still be sleeved on April 16. Tomorrow is the ol' scope day so I hope they don't find anything there either.

Keep up the healing and so glad to read the posts of those that are now sleeved. Congratulations. Hope to join you soon!

Thank you so much for sharing. I've been reading tons of information regarding drinking and eating and I'm so nervous I might do something wrong and mess up. Hang in there you are doing an awesome job!

Willosknot-I had a cold about a week before surgery and I was still congested the day of, that was one of the questions everyone asked. "Have you had a cold in the last ten days." I said I was congested. After surgery it felt so good because the congestion was gone, it reappeared a few days later though.

phatdivabbw-That is one of my fears too. The first few days I probably only got down 1/4 of my liquids. By day 3 I was doing better, my nut said to do about 4oz a half an hour. With Protein Drinks that's really all I can do because they are so thick, sports drinks and Water sometimes go down faster.

Hi,

I wanted to let everyone know I was sleeved on Wednesday. I came home yesterday evening and just felt like getting on here. The pain is not too bad, they just sent me home on Tylenol. The worse part has been the gas pains and gurgles, I was so glad to see others have the gurgles too. They feel so crazy.

I am getting in Water and G2 thinking about trying a G3, it has protien in it, but I have been nauseous and taking Reglan and Phenergen, which seems to help. I just took a shower and that made me feel a little human.

So that's my update. Will be so glad when I feel a little more normal and the gas pains go away.

Congrats gettinskintae, the gas will go away soon. You can try a warm compress. I still gurgle but I guess I'm just used to it so they are not as awkward anymore. My students will love them when I go back next week though!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
