Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

M scheduled for my surgery April 26th and I was curious to see who else would be walking in the shoes of April with me. Tell me how you feeling? What's on your mind? Any worries? Second thoughts?

Ignore the haters, too bad there's not a surgery for negative, nasty, jealous attitudes! You are right on pace to getting the body and the health improvements you want! Stay positive and keep up the good work! Every pound is a big deal, we didn't put it on overnight and it is not logical that it could come off over night. Small steps in the right direction....we will all get there!

Everyone is doing so well. I think we should all be proud of how far we have come. I am down an even 50 since my last pre-op weigh in on April 9 (sleeved 4/16). Since my highest weight, I am down 91. I could not be happier. Ok, so here is a kind of "uh, what the heck" question for you all. We all know we are not supposed to drink when we eat. Something that was really hard for me to change because I think I always drank more than I actually ate at any one meal!!! But, I will say the one time I took a small sip because my throat was so dry, it hurt, so I get why we should not. However, (oh, come on, you knew there was going to be a "however" :) ): Why is it that I can eat Progresso Light Chicken Noodle and Veg. soup and not have that same pain. I mean come on, essentially I am eating and drinking at the same time. There is a lot of fluid in that soup. I am past the pureed stage, and although I chew, chew, chew, it is not ground up like a blender would do. So...essentially, I am eating and drinking at the same time. It sits really well in my sleeve. Soup is still a go to food for me. Fills me up, low on calories, sits well, it is a win, win. I just got to thinking about this "issue" of food and drink together when I was eating my lunch today. Any theories?

Here is hoping you all have wonderful Monday's. Jimmy... nice to see you checking in. Hope everything is going smoothly for you at this point. Take care all.

Congratulations to everyone because we all are winners because we took that big step in changing our lives forever. Throw the negative vibes up in the air and let it go!

Willowsknot - the NUT said the reason not to drink when eating is it limits the amount we can get into the stomach. I stop drinking 30 mins before and start drinking 30 mins after. A small sip won't hurt but def can't drink with my meal or I won't eat. I barely can get in 3 oz of food per meal so adding water won't work for me!

So tomorow is officially 3 mos and I've noticed I've started shedding. Strands and strands of hair everytime I brush and wash :( thinking this is because I had major problems with protein but finally found protein that I can drink problem free! I bought the fall fight or fight fall line with biotin from garnier (can't remember the exact name) hoping that it helps and am going to start taking biotin as well. Anyone else going thru this yet? I'm gonna be bald at the rate my hair is coming out :(. Thinking a hair cut is in my future LOL

I'll be back tomorrow with my official 3 month weigh in. Thinking with the stalls wont be too much over 50.

Hope you all are doing well!

I too am losing so much hair. It falls and falls. I was told that it would start happening about 10 to 12 wks post op and will stop around 12 - 14 months post op.

I have been using Lush's shampoo bar called NEW! I love the way it feels. It has cinnamon and clove in it and claims to to encorage hair growth and help slow hair thinning. I have combined it with their lightest conditioner.

As anyone else noticed that once you hit around 10 to 12 wks the weight is not coming off as fast?

I lost 41 pounds since post op which is about 3.75 per week, but I have noticed it has slowed down a bit to about 3 pounds per week for the past 2 wks. I know that the first couple of weeks are accelarted because of the liquid only and limited food choices, but darn. I am increasing my activity level to help. I am happy to have lost as much as I have; don't get me wrong. My goal was to be 95 pounds lighter by my anniversary date I will have to make it work

Sleeved 4/10/12 - down 68lbs.

Do we have an April Sleevers Facebook page? If not, anyone want to start one?

Surgery 4-24-12 down 75 pounds.

I think a Facebook page is a great idea!

Mmorral - my weight has come off much slower the last few weeks - hoping it was just a stall since I lost more this week than in the last 3 weeks :)

That shampoo bar sounds awesome - I may have to check it out when im done with the new shampoo I just bought!

3 months as of the 9th and have lost 40lbs. Even for being a lightweight I think that's great. But the hair loss has me kinda scared. I have thin hair to being with but now I'm afraid I will be bald very so at the rate I'm going. My mom is having the sleeve surgery next month if all goes well and she was looking into reasons for hair loss and she said something about lack of peptide or something ( in what left of the stomach) that prevenst the proper absorbtion of protein causing hair loss. I will try to find more info on this. She said she ordered some supplement or something that's supposed to help the body more of the protein we need.

I am sooooooooo happy today!!!! Weighed in this morning and I am now officially in Two-tersville!!! Never again in my live will I be in the 300+++! I am woman, hear me roar!!! :D
