Well i finally had my sleeve done on March 1st, and I'm so grateful to have found this forum since I have very little support and those who support me just don't understand the process, the healing, the emotional strife and just my abrupt end of my relationship with food. Right now I'm stressed out because everything was going wonderful I was losing 2 lbs or so a day for a total of 18lbs 11 days. Than I had a set back with extreme vomiting, they put me in the hospital forced me to drink an immense amour of contrast for a cat scan and came to the conclusion I had a lot of internal swelling. Well I stayed I. The hospital for 3 days on IV only and came home albs heavier. Now tomorrow I go for my 2 week check up and I've only lost 11. I'm upset and confused... Did the contrast stretch my stomach? Is this all Water weight from the IV's what's the deal? I'm so discouraged and I'm getting depressed without anyone to talk to... I know it has to get better but I'm bummed right now..I hope I'm in the right place now.

Don't worry about the weight gain. I came home from the hospital 4 lbs heavier. It is the IV's. I'm so sorry you had problems. You'll get back on track. This board is wonderful for support. We all need each other.

I haven't had surgery yet; but you sound very motivated and obviously if you've found your way to this site, you know how to find support.

I just want to encourage you to look at the overall picture of what you've accomplished so far and know that this slight gain you've had will be history very soon. Focus on your immediate recovery and start tomorrow with a new focus on getting your liquids and Protein and Vitamins, etc into your great, new, tiny tummy! From what I've read on this site, most people have gains after a hospital admission for whatever reasons.

Keep up the good work!

You're at the right place if you are looking for support. I'm sorry you had to endure all that but unfortunately for some sleevers it gets worse before it gets better. Hang in there and i'm sure you'll feel better soon :)

I gained all my preop loss plus some from IV fluids. It took a week to get that back off. For some reason, my body just sucked them up like a sponge! It will come back off, I promise. Its just Fluid. You are doing fine. Keep on keeping on!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
