Hi everybody,

I still have no fill any my weightloss is so slow:-) but I started going to the gym again...couldnt do that due to terrible weather over 105F degrees. Now I started losing again.Im going to see my parents today and Im scared...why? becasue I have some weird food behaviour when Im at home.I keep overeating )yes even with the band) when Im home and I just cant stop it.Maybe its because my mom was always the one who was telling me how fat, ugly I was.Now she doesnt do that anymore but Im stuck with the food obsession when Im home:-)

First off: Eficka!!!!!!! You are HOT!!!! LOL.....really though.....you are truly very beautiful....hairdresser or no hairdresser!!!

That being said...

*waves* hey all April Banditos!!!!

I'm still chuggin' along...hoping my fill (25 Aug) will give me more restriction and help me along a bit. I am eating less but not sure if it is due to a physical restriction or a mental block telling me "must stop now!". But it is tough wo the right restriction.

I am exercising a LOT (not a new thing for me). I eat healthy "most" of the time.....the odd chip/cheezie still finds its way to me (my challenge is not eat them in Aug).

Hope all is well with all the other April Banditos!!!!

Hello fellow April bandsters --

It seems I have become a member of the slow losers club. Only 2 pounds since July 11. I go back in for fill #3 in a week. Hopefully, I will get where I need to be in regards to restriction. Only time will tell. And I am letting people take my picture without standing behind something.

So....best wishes to everyone. Keep on losing.

Well thank goodness I found ya'll this month. Maybe I was just to busy in July. I dunno what happened???!!! LOL I have missed ya'll. I'm doing very well I have lost 51 pounds. :clap2: I have had 2 fills. And this last one must be working or I must be eating to fast. I'm not sure which. I think maybe both. I work in a retail grocery store and all my customers are starting to notice!!!! I really want some good looking rich man to notice.LOL:sleep And can someone tell me what to take for my hair falling out :) I have long really really thick hair or should I say I HAD really really thick hair I dunno what happened. Glad I found ya'll!!!!!!!!!!!! Eficka you look AWESOME!!!!!!!

I've had three fills. But despite several PB events -- which remind me that I have some restriction -- I am STILL HUNGRY! The band is definitely working for me in some capacity, because my weight loss has been substantial. But I am not at all satisfied with eating minuscule portions, and that's where I had expected a lot of help from the band. I'm the one exercising Portion Control. So what's the band doing?

Please tell me somebody can see a difference!!!!! I don't think I can.

The first pic is from Feb before surgery and the second is from July exactly 3 months out.

Er...I haven't lost as much as I thought I would but I have had a work and home life that has gone about 90 miles an hour since I got my band. I think I'm making better choices, still working out, not as hard as I should, but I'm thinking I might need another fill. I'm not really sure. I'm going to try some more behavior improvments. But I'm still here!!! Good to hear from you guys! Eficka, you are soooo cute!!! I love your haircut, but I thought your avatar was super cute before. You guys look and sound like you're doing well...we can do this!!!

Hi all, it's sunday here in NZ!!! I just got back from work and just sitting here doing a lot of thinking. I suspect I maybe overfilled, I thought this sounded like a blessing, but I can only get liquids down, not solids and it has been 9 days, does anyone agree? I am going to try some hummous and refried Beans right now, but I am afraid it might come back up, maybe I should ring the doctor tomorrow, I just don't want to lose any fill at the same time, what do you all think?

XX Amourette

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
