6 Months Post-Op Progress

Recommended Posts

I will have my 6 months check-up Monday. I have lost almost 100 lbs. since my highest in June 2011. I have lost around 70 lbs. since my surgery on Aug. 22, 2011. I haven't felt this good in years! I am trying to get more active and keep up the change in my life for good. I wish I had the "sleeve" surgery available to me 30 years ago. This was the best decision I have ever made for myself!

Congratulations!! That is Awesome Progress and you look Fantastic! :D

I too wish they had this surgery when I first needed it. After having my second child I kinda let myself go but only by about 40lbs but when I quit smoking 3 yrs ago "Bam" the weight poured on. Now I have to lose about 115lbs. I could alway lose the weight, but, keeping it off is another issue, not too mention having a desk job. I am nervous about having surgery, but, I'm excited also  It might be uncomfortable for awhile but I'm sure it will be totally worth it!

God Bless your continued Journey! B)

5'4"

250lbs

goal weight 135lbs (Sorry, I don't know how to do that ticker thing so I will just post my stats)

Dear Caycaye,

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You look fantastic! I had my surgery on June 18, 2011, and have also lost 100 pounds. I still have about 8-10 to go to get to goal. But am so thrilled with my weight loss! If I never lose another ounce, I am happy.

I also wish this option had been available 30-40 years ago, when I first needed it, instead of waiting till I was in my 60's before doing something permanent about my weight. But I am so happy to know that I have made a HUGE step in the right direction toward being healthier and living longer. You are doing absolutely wonderful!!! Keep rocking your sleeve! Again, Congratulations!!!!!

Thanks so much to you ALL for such wonderful words of encouragement. It means so much to me, because you are the ONLY people who really understand what it has been like to be so obese for so long and feel so hopeless and helpless. I am the ONLY one in my family that is even overweight, much less obese. It has been a long journey, but compared to my breast cancer journey this has been a "piece of cake"!

I, too, don't really care if I lose another pound, but I know I will, because I am going to keep up this change in my eating habits and exercise routines. It feels so good to be healthier....and the pain I had (only two days) and adjustment in how I eat was only very temporary....WELL worth it!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
