Bk & Kfc.... Who Knew?

Recommended Posts

Yup I bought the KFC mashed potatoes and they are soooo good. I also bought a small cup of Chili's baked potato Soup and mashed the potatoes in it and it was delicious.

Doesnt kfc sell a grilled chicken patty themselves. I ate a patty sandwich a year or 2 ago that was great but now postop theres no way I can eat that much. That sandwich by itself would be 2-3 meals lol.

But there is things from each fastfood restaurant that one can eat if really needed.

KFC does sell grilled chicken and its outstanding. They have a sandwich that's 2 grilled chicken breasts, bacon and cheese -that's the whole sandwich - no bread or anything. It would be probably 4 meals.

I was thinking the same thing, I could not imagine eating that. I wish I could ... I am told to stay on full liquids for a while longer. I am 3 weeks out on this Sat.

At first i was scared. 3 + weeks and about 2 weeks pre-op only liquids. After 2nd week post-op Dr. Visit. They told me u doing great no pains, nausea, reflux or any gas build up. Said week 3 start on mash, grits and oatmeal. Grilled or baked chicken, turkey and fish. I waited till almost week 4 to try the meat. So far no problems.

just the KFC in general is good for our diets...in regular form..not patty. I only get the meat so I'm not tempted on sides

I am 3 weeks out and can eat meat of any kind as long as its moist and in small enough pieces (I puree it in the food processor). Had my followup today and my surgeon is thrilled. Guess it depends on your surgeon/ center. Mine recommended full liquids at 3days, pureed food at 7 days, and soft (but distinct pieces of food) at day 11. They want us off Protein supplements and onto "real"food food ASAP resuming a normal, healthy plan by 6weeks.

at 3 weeks, mushies/purees are where I was at. I did have some mashed potatoes, but I had very little and pretty much used them to thicken cream of mushroom Soup. When I started week 4, that's when I went to eating chicken and other meats that were whole foods. Haven't had any issues.

I am not going to try chicken or anything like that until about 6 weeks out. Right now the mashed potatoes and creamy Soups are going down ok and I enjoy them but as for chicken, I know I couldn't hold it down. I do look forward to it though because chicken is great for Protein.< /p>

chicken is the only meat I just don't seem to tolerate too well (of what I have tried so far). I did get about a third of a chick fil a grilled breast down once and it tasted amazing. However, I felt uncomfortable for over an hour afterward. Guess I am still not ready for chicken even at 6 weeks. :(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
