What do you mean not drinking plain Water? That is what we are supposed to drink. I don't get it about the Vitamins either. Mine aren't hard, they are adult Gummy kind. Maybe they stick to your teeth and cause cavities?

I did find that Water tastes much different. I used to drink Water that had been through a Brita filter. Now I can't stand it! Some people find that they no longer enjoy cold drinks, while I need to have my glass full of ice.

I just started buying the gallon jugs of water and tried several brands to find one or two I liked. I really enjoy Fiji Water, but it is soooo expensive. I save it for a special treat!!

They say different water's have different ph's so maybe that's why they taste different. Then again you may not notice any taste difference at all and tap water will taste just fine to you. Every one is different.

I drink 24-48oz of Water every day - cold, tepid - whatever. No problems at all. Maybe you read how you are not supposed to drink any fluids 30 minutes before/after eating anything? The chewable vitamins I take (Celebrate brand) are not hard at all, the break into powder form 2-3 seconds after it hits my mouth. I make sure I swish with water after and usually brush teeth about 20 minutes later. But that's just because my dentist tells me to never brush my teeth within 20 minutes of eating anything because the acid from your food is still on your teeth and makes them soft (...so when you brush too soon after, you can wear away at enamel). There are liquid and powder multi's you can mix with water if you don't like chewable :-)

I'm not sure about this one. Plain Water is the best thing to drink! Personally I haven't had any change in taste for water. The only difference is that I can't gulp water. I can't down it. That goes for any liquid or food for that matter. However, I can drink it and it tastes fine to me. As for chewable vitamins...I use them!

I am 18 days out from surgery and I have trouble drinking plain Water. It just doesn't taste good at all. So, some days I mix it half and half with G2 gatorade or I use light (0 calorie) lemonade mixes.

I too am on the Flintstones Vitamin band wagon. Supposedly those aren't as complete as Centrum chewables, but they taste a whole lot better!

I cant stand regular Water and neither can my sleeve. I drink Crystal Lite and it truly depends on the flavor if I will tolerate it. Crystal Lite Lemonade is a definite no, Ice Tea flavor or fruit Punch is my favorite. I also vomit the Celebrate chewables or any form of liquid vitamins. I prefer Flinstones and the Gummy Calcium Vitamins. I definitely see a change in the differing ways of the flavors and how they relate to my sleeve.

I didn't like plain Water much before my sleeve. I drink water (before and after sleeve) with generic Crystal Light. I like the Walmart brand wild strawberry. I like it better than the Crystal Light brand flavors. I like kids chewable vitamins too. My doctor's office made me buy a huge bottle of Bariatric Advantage chewable Vitamins. I can't stand it. I do like their cinnamon chewable Calcium.< /p>

What is the reason Water or other things taste different? Is it a physical thing for some, meaning the sleeve hurts or aches when drinking or eating certain things? Does this feeling pass years, later (question for veteran sleevers?) I dont mind sweets tasting different because I dont eat much of that my main concern is water. Thats my go to drink as well as my new friend crystal light.

Preop I was a hard core ice Water drinker- now plain Water makes my sleeve burn in the most awful way :(

And I don't think that it's the hardness of the chewable Vitamins but the fact that you chew them up and unless you brush your teeth really well immediately afterward you're going to essentially have candy stuck in your teeth- causing cavities.

I have had no difference in any of my drinking habits. I like plain Water, Lipton diet green tea,and propel. I can drink Water warm, room temp, or icy cold. The only difference is that I have to drink slower. I can take bigger sips now, but just can't gulp a glass down when thirsty.

I also take the chewable Vitamins by Bariatric Advantage. Don't like them, but eat them anyway. When they are gone, I will look for a better tasting replacement.

The Celebrate Vitamins rock! I drop an extra b supplement into my protien drinks, and the Calcium chews are soo easy! I use both powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powder and Celebrate - celebrate has all the Vitamins in it.

I was told that it is possible that I might not to tolerate plain Water after surgery, but assured that it goes away in a month or two if it does happen. Doesn't always though. So far, almost a week out, I'm ok with it. This experience is sooooooooo different for each and every person who goes through it. You just never know. (There are certain consistencies, but there are many, many variables.)

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
