3 Days Post Op And My Body Is Angry!

Recommended Posts

I'm on day 9 post-op, but remember day 3 very well...I promise it's gets so much better!! For me it was about half-way through day four, and I just keep feeling better and better! I'm with the posters above - my liquid Lortab has been wonderful and I'm walking as much as possible. I regretted my surgery the first couple of days...but that passed, and now I'm excited for my future! Hang in there!! Hugs!

Yes, this is a US doctor at a top Boston hospital. One of the nurses didn't cut the pills for me and I told her they had to be cut and she said no they didn't. Seriously?? She eventually cut it, but why do I the sedated patient have to tell her that. How much are you guys walking? I am walking around the house, but I think that is all I can handle. I was also told to take alieve, which i swear is the only thing that is helping me.

Wow , I remember when I was 3 days out, I think that was the worst time, it was around the time , That I started to ask myself " what did I do to myself ?" . The good thing is that things will get better really soon. Im quite suprised that you did not get liquid form of vicodin. Youre sleeve is still healing I cant imaginine swallowing pills this soon after. Things will get better soon though hang in there.

oxycodone comes in many varieties - not all are the extended release that have the high street value.

I didn't have a problem swallowing pills - I did cut them to make them smaller and easier, but no problems. If the pain meds aren't working for you, please request something else- even oxycodone comes in a liquid form so if the doc insists on using that, he can prescribe liquids.

I was given hydrocodone (vicodin ) elixir for pain. Omeprazole for acid reflux and ursodiol to prevent gall stones , also promethazine for nausea, but never needed it. The vicodin elixir tasted nasty but worked wonders in the days after my surgery.

I was given hydrocodone and I hated the taste but where I had to sip it it kept me from using more than I needed - I never needed the whole dose.

I also had the elixir and baby aspirin. The baby aspirin seem to help me the most because it made me so relaxed. I was afraid that I would become addicted to the elixir so as soon as I was able to get off the elixir I ask my doctor if I could take baby Benadryl. I was given that in the hospital and continue with it at home.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
