Help! 3 Month Post Op :)

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone my name is avi and i was sleeved on nov 1, 2011. I was just wondering, if your 3 month post op what are you eating for Breakfast lunch dinner as well as Snacks. Also how much are you guys exercises.

Start weight was 400 pounds

Current Weight 320

* this also includes that i had lost 40 pounds before surgery.

Work out: 6 days a week, 30 mins elliptical, and 30 mins treadmill total one hour

I just want to get an idea of what everyone is doing

Breakfast; Isopure Protein shake

snack: apple sauce

Lunch: 3 ounce of chicken salad, or wendys chilli

snack: cheese stick

Dinner: 2/4 cup of lentil Soup, or 3 oz of chicken

This is all i can manage at this point to eat, and it worries me sometimes because i can drink a whole 8 oz of my shake and mean while some people can only drink 5 oz. Plus i can finish my Protein Shake in about 15 mins. I drink tons of Water and i can gulp it down sometimes. Please let me know if im doing something wrong and any advice is welcomed Thank you guys

I was sleeved on 11/15/2011. Below is a sample of what I will eat:

For Breakfast: 1 Labrada Lean Body On The Go Protein shake

For Lunch: 1 Baked chicken Breast (Skinless) with Organic Girl Baby Spring Mix salad

For Dinner: 1 Baked Tilapia with same salad above.

Snack: Some days none or yoplait light yogurt or Fiber one 90 cal brownie.

I forgot to put that I top my salad with shredded lowfat cheddar or mozzarella cheese

I walk 3 or 4 days per week for 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on how I feel.

I was sleeved on 10/13/11 and this is a sample day for me:

Breakfast: 1 egg with 1/2 English muffin

Lunch: 4 oz of meat or fish (I don't eat beef) 1/4 cup shredded lettuce or a vegetable

Dinner: Same as lunch

Snacks: Yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese stick or individually wrapped cheese (Kerrygold), egg, carrot juice, milk

I love milk and carrot juice and probably drink two cups of milk a day and a cup of carrot juice (100% juice)

It varies day to day, some days I have a cup of coffee before Breakfast, some days I eat more, some days less, I don't really feel hunger, but will get an odd feeling if I need to eat :-)

I'm glad you chimed in Countrysjr- I was feeling like a pig compared to some other posters.

I was sleeved 11/14 Most days I eat

Breakfast-2 egg whites and 1 slice bacon or 1 cup high Fiber Cereal

Lunch-3-4 oz Protein and 1 cup salad or 1/2 green vegetables

Dinner-Same as lunch

My doctor doesn't allow snacks-but if I do it's generally a piece of fruit plus I drink 8oz of milk and 8oz of fresh juice during the day in addition to my waters.

He doesn't allow dessert either-but every night I have a 100 calorie dessert- Light ice cream, cookie/milk,

100 calories of chocolate.

Hello Avi!

Congrats on your journey so far... If I can offer you any advise it would be two things... Do not try to compare yourself to others on this forum. Each of us have different body types, doctor advise, foods we can tolerate, etc.. and it becomes so frustrating to see some posts that just blow you away with thier stats. It is hard not to compare yourself to others, but please try!!! The 2nd piece of advise would be to stick to basics that your doc & nutrionists suggested. Again we each are so different and we follow different recomendations, in the end result is you have to answer to yourself.

To be honest, it sounds like you are doing great so far - especially with your focus on Water - good for you! I strugled with that aspect.

For me - I began my journey at 341 pounds January 12, 2011. I have lost 112 p ounds so far, I have 60 more pounds to lose. I still start almost every day with a protien shake. I eat lunch, usally always the same thing - 1/4 cup of fat free cottage cheese and 1/4 cup of either chicken or the imitation crab seafood stuff in the frig section of stores. Sometimes I do tuna fish & cottage cheese for lunch. I always have a afternoon snack...usually it is beef jerkey, or nuts any kind of nuts, I love em all!

dinner is always chicken, turkey or seafood... sometimes I will do Wendy's small chilli, sometimes taco bell pintos & cheese (no red sauce)... I love eating 1/4 of a backed sweet potato or 1/2 an avacodo, I wasnt able to do a salad until I was about 6 months out.. and now I have a salad a couple times a week, always just spinich, a hard boiled egg, fetta cheese and bacon bits... no dressing.. just the salad. I love it now! I still turn to sugar free popcycles and fudgecycles for a treat. If I have a super busy day I always pack a small little lunch box cooler with a couple of bottles of crystal light mixed up and protien bar (I buy Atkins choco chip granola at Wal-Mart), lo-fat string cheese, nuts & jerkey... If I get caught being out and hungry my old habits sneak in and I am stopping at a party store to buy potato chips!

Hope some of this helps, keep up your great work!!!

HI my journey started 10/31/2011. I have lost 39 lbs so far. I am 4'11". So I think I am losing slower because my BMI is less than most. I eat 3 times a day plus a Protein Shake. Typical morning is Greek Yogurt 14 grams Protein (but it has fruit in it) I do sacrifice carbs for the fruit flavor. Otherwise the Yogurt is gross. lunch is typically left overs from the night before dinner. I try to make lean protein dinners. It could be a chicken breast baked, or lean ground turkey made with salsa and grated parmesan cheese.I try to limit the portion to 3-4 oz protein serving. Then I add a vegetable or fruit. I found at the dollar store 2.3 oz storage containers. They are the bomb. I just fill those up and take them to work with me for my meal/portion control. I do cheat sometimes with Lindt chocolate truffles. But I eat one or two. Not the half the bag like before. I am very strict about drinking 30 minutes before and after meals. I stay away from sodas. I drink herbal teas.

I also eat more than Avi and my NUT is ok with it. You are both probably doing just fine and so is Avi. I work hard at meeting my Protein goals and I get very close, but I miss the mark on most days. I not only drink my 8 ounce Protein shake BUT I am hungry soon after! LOL It happens to some of us. No big deal in my opinion. chicken and other dense protein is what keeps me full for longer.

Actually Avi, if you ate more, you would probably lose more and if I exercised more, I would lose more, but we can only do the best we can. :smile1:

I was sleeved 11/16/2011 started preop diet 2 weeks prior. to date I have lost 75 lbs... yippeee

an example of my meals follows:

Breakfast pure Protein bar

snack pure Protein Bar

lunch 1/2 cup chili or pinto Beans

snack string cheese

dinner 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup chicken.

at this point my struggle is the Protein, I never have room for vegetables or salad, if it wasnt for the Protein Bars I would not get in my protein at all. I am lucky to get 1000 calories a day. I am not a big meat eater so this has been a struggle for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
