Eight Weeks Out And Im At A Stall, Why? What Can I Do To Jump Start This?

Recommended Posts

I don't feel like I'm eating much more than 4 to 500 calories a day, but Ive been stuck at 220 for a week. Ive been looking forward to getting out of the 220 into the teens, but they wont release me, darn 20's. I weighed 260, when I had my surgery on 12/12/11, so Ive lost 40 pounds, is that good? Its been 8 weeks, I kind of thought I would I would be losing it faster. Now this is my first stall, so its scary. Words from the wise please. Thanks Kathy. This is really making me sad.

When I was stalled I was eating 800 cals a day, I upped it to 900 and BAM! the stall was gone. So what I'm thinking is you're eating too few calories, you might want to up it a little and see what happens. Also switch up your workout routine or try something new to shock your body, it'll kick it back into gear! Hope this helps.

It'll end, they always do =)

I to was sleeved on 12/12/11 and at 5 weeks gained 2.4 pounds freaked out. It took another week and half before I started losing again. During this time my body was making it's own changes in the form of inches. I lost 3 inches over all during that time.

I also changed how much I weighted myself to once a week (Tuesdays) the day after surgery. Because the scale was making me crazy :Banane55: .

I would definitely up the calories a bit and see if that makes a difference. Everyone's body stalls at a point where its used to being at. In the past, have you dieted or been stable at this weight? Your body does tend to "remember" things - it will pass though :)

Same here..I've hit the 3 or 4 week stall. Dropped 40 pounds in 2 and half weeks...now dropped like 4 in a week. I figured it was just the body adjusting back from the shock of surgery. I'm still watching what I eat and doing healthy choices so I figured I'm doing my part. COME ON SLEEVE GET BACK AT IT

Just popping this back up after searching for this subject. I'm around 8 weeks too, and stalled at the same weight. Jumping on scale shortly, hoping for a miracle....LOL :) I did a new workout attempt last night -- zumba, and am planning on changing up my intake for a little bit to see if that helps kick me off the plateau. Sheesh.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
