Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have been fighting some intense nausea for the past couple of days. What is that all about?! No vomiting but I am having a hard time eating. This just came out of the blue. Help! :(

I'm sorry that you are feeling ill. Based on your ticker, you are doing extremely well in the weightloss arena.

How much Water are you taking in? I'm guessing that you may be slightly dehydrated.....

Otherwise, place a call into the nurse line for your insurance company or call your doctor's office. At this point, we could only speculate.

Did they prescribe nausea medicine to you when you left the hosp? Maybe you should start taking them or call your doctor and request them. My doctor mention this exact scenario to me before I left the hosp and said if so start back to the basics with a clear liquid diet for a few days and gradually work yourself back through the stages. Good luck

Thank you PreciousCargo & Afro_Cyster! I started taking the nausea meds. I started feeling really bad after I had what I would consider my first real BM (sorry TMI). It was absolutely awful. But I swear I have been struggling since.

I have been trying to push fluids today and went back to a full liquid diet today. Hopefully, that will work. I don't think I am dehydrated because I have been drinking the recommended Fluid intake. I just feel like I am taking 2 steps back. My energy level is zilch!

Could it possibly be the onset of the flu? It's that time of year. I'm concerned because this doesn't sound normal to me. If you're not dehydrated there might be a problem. If you're still battling this in 24 hours I'd make a call to the nurse for sure. I'd rather waste their time than have a major issue!

I hope you get to feeling better soon. And don't ever feel like you shouldn't call your nurse for help - you had a major surgery done and if you have a question they are there to ease your mind.

P.S. No only do we have the same name, but our starting stats/goal are pretty close! I'm 5'1" and started at 242, with goal at 135 pounds. You're going to do great!

Thank you Cheri! :) I hope to be at your weight one day! ;)

I will see how I feel tomorrow when I wake up. Maybe I am just exhausted? I have not slept well for the past 2 nights. Crossing my fingers for a better day tomorrow! :) If not, I will be making a phone call!

At about 4 weeks I started to get sick to my stomach every afternoon...I didnt want to eat...the thought of food made me want to vomit. It turns out it was acid reflux...I began to have a choking feeling at night. I would wake up suddenly and have to sick up or even stand for a while. The doc changed my meds and I was good to go...I wonder if you are experiencing to much acid? Are you on a ppi? I took prilosec before this happened and now I take nexium. Let un know what you find out.

Well, I am happy to report that after a good nights sleep, I am feeling much better. I am not sure why I was having such a rough time but maybe I just needed to go back to full liquids for a day to let my body catch up? I do take Pepcid and I also have Zantac. Pepcid seems to work the best for me. I think I will just stay on a full liquid diet for another day just to be sure. The nausea is gone. So that's a definite plus! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
